Probably. And I think it'll be a decent number of acts too. Probably on the smaller/lower side of the poster with 1-2 bigger names to be announced. That undercard looks pretty thin.

Whatever you do, don’t look at the 2014 lineup and it’s undercard. You will become infinitely sad.

I think people just don’t want to spend the money on acts they aren’t super interested in. It’s okay to be a fan of this festival and not be thrilled with the lineup.

I'm a bit dissapointed in this lineup. I will wait until the final lineup to commit to a decision about refunds. I am in England and my whole travel plans were based around this fest and the lineup so far doesnt convince me either way.

so outside of nin and pumpkins who are we thinking the 3rd headliner is rtj?

  6. Some stuff I'm excited about, but I'm definitely looking forward to more undercard announcements next week. Mr. Bungle is the only add that legitimately surprised me. I have a friend who thinks they're one of the greatest bands of all time, so I guess I should check them out.

There are still 20 something fewer bands on the lineup that there were in 2019.

Looking at how many other bands fit with the NIN aesthetic i would guess they were always a planned headliner so there is still no replacement for MCR that i can tell.

I agree the additions aren't that exciting, but it was already pretty solid to me. Of course I'm stoked to see Motion City on there, and since I'm sure they're playing CTTM at the fest, I'm already going to start hoping they do an aftershow where they play another album or a regular set.

NIN will also be a good time, but also the type I might decide to go see someone else during or leave early if there's a good aftershow. It does feel a little soon to have them back.

Anyway I'm still just excited to be back at Riot Fest. Plenty here to make sure I have a great time all weekend, even if it's not their best line up ever.

2014 also had a ridiculous number of stages. I kinda wish they would go back to the format they had in 2015 as far as stages go. Where they had two smaller stages side-by-side. That allowed for a more expansive undercard.

EDIT: Pretty sure 2014 had seven stages in total. At this point, they have five. Which sucks in terms of the number of bands on the bill being less... But is much easier to manage from a navigation perspective.

i went through and looks like there are only 4 acts that are no longer on the new line up from the post-mrc dropoff line up: L7, don Brocco, & Boston Manor

edited to remove someone i put on here by mistake

  16. mayyyyybe they're waiting until next week because they're waiting for the Hella Mega tour-postponement announcement and then one of the bands (presumably FOB) is the final headliner?

The fact they’ve only lost that small handful of acts is a testament to the work they’re doing

Bands missing that i realistically thought might play due to other fests/previous rumblings that aren't on the lineup are The Academy Is, Rancid, DKM, distillers, Against Me, Rise Against and Janes Addiction

Curious to see how squeezing an entire festival season into 2 months affected all of this.

    LTL
    RF
    Bonnaroo
    Govs Ball
    Lolla
    Furnace Fest

    what else am I missing?

A friend of mine saw the line-up and really wants to go... But apparently it's still showing that GA tickets are sold out?
