that seems like normal snark. And it isn’t like they were going to reply to that tweet by saying the lineup is coming out today. The fact that they said Today is Thursday instead of just saying no like they did yesterday still makes me hopeful.
Oh man that’s be amazing. But I think that’s be more of a Lolla thing, even though he’s fit much better in Riot
Those tweets make me feel like we still have a chance today. Especially given that yesterday it was a straight-up "Nah, it's not coming." This is par for the course, but they are pretty deliberate when it's a hard "no." Also: Where did the Rob Zombie rumor come from? Is it just because he's on another festival on the 18th or is there more reasoning beyond that?
I just saw this post lol. People are stupid. Tinley park are bands Chicago date but people on Reddit don’t seem to get that
"I'm pretty sure the Riot Fest Twitter Person used to burn ants with a magnifying glass when they were a kid." I don't know why, but this Reddit comment on the tweets today made me "LOL."
Yeah, it's a little frustrating. But I still really think they'll fire off a tweet stating the time it's coming. It might be an hour ahead or six hours ahead. But that's one thing they have consistently done every year since 2013. That being said - according to that press statement a few weeks back, the plan for this year was to just drop it on a Friday with presumably no announcement the day before. Sooo... Who knows.
Yeah but why announce it tomorrow when louder than life is dropping their lineup? Louisville is only a 4 hour or so drive from Chicago
Also I just thought of a cool idea. If Riot enacted a comedy stage who would you want to perform? Think comedians that fit the Riot vibe. More festivals should have a comedy stage tbh
I’m not sure if announcing on the same day as another festival matters that much. I still think it will be today, though.
If it does drop today it will either be on the the hour or the half hour of whatever hour it does drop
The other thing we aren’t considering is that this is technically a second wave. I don’t remember how they handle those normally (although obviously this isn’t a normal case). Plus they don’t normally give a time frame for when they will announce the line up like they did this time. So it is possible that they consider that enough of an announcement and won’t bother one. I feel like anyone who is going to pay attention to an announcement of the announcement already knows it is coming.
I noticed the eventbrite page for 2022 was just updated from Saturday 9/17/22 to Friday 9/16/22. Things are moving!
Nice I didn’t even notice yesterday the dates where wrong. Pretty sure they where using this years dates with next years event header
if im starting with comedians with a purely punk rock aesthetic id go with kyle kinane, janeane garofalo, margaret cho, jonah ray & eric andre come to mind off the top of my head, but im sure there are a ton more that would do well - ron funches, josh gondleman, pete holmes..
Thursday has dropped off aftershock due to a change in circumstances. Wonder if that means they will be dropping off this too
