The fact that you can’t buy GA or the first level VIP tickets rn is what makes it seem like it’s gotta be coming really soon.
That'd be nice! They do have a tendency to "announce the announcement" though, teaser or not. So we'll see! Really hoping we get it by tonight.
Me too! I need to stop obsessing over who is going to play and start obsessing over who I want to see most and what day each band is going to play and potential conflicts and who I would choose if they happen!
Ok, maybe the only one here...but I’d loveeee to see a Silverchair set. They got unfairly labeled a grunge rip-off and their more adventurous albums never took off in America:
Here is an oldie but a goodie: “Today’s the day. They definitely have to make an announcement today right?!”
It's incredibly unlikely that they would ever be booked, but I'd love this too! Specifically, a Neon Ballroom play. "I mean, it has to be, right? They said the 'first half of May.'" *Fast forward to Saturday, a day where nothing is ever announced in the music industry* "I mean, maybe they'll drop it at like, 11:59 tonight."
Would love/hate this. But honestly, that's not the ultimate troll. The ultimate troll would be Lolla and Riot dropping their line-ups at the same time. The twist? They both announce each other's line-ups.
"Stay tuned to see what we’ve got planned for this year—and as a treat, by hanging on to your ticket, you’ll receive access to a special price for Riot Fest 2022." Anyone planning on grabbing a 2022 ticket as well? I think I will jump on the special price.
id love that too! and you are on to something because my fiancé does not really listen to modern rock music. she sticks almost exclusively to broadway, yacht rock, and 90's/00's pop BUT is obsessed with the silverchair album Diorama, which is one of the more adventurous albums but yet has zero interest in their other work, haha
Depends on what the price is. I'm generally hesitant to buy tickets in advance of the line-up. The only reason I did it for 2020 was because my partner had never been and made a point to let me know she'd really like to go with me at some point. Also: This makes me wonder what the process is going to be for confirming that we're keeping our tickets. You gotta figure they'll say something like "If you just want to keep your ticket for 2021; do nothing. But if you want to keep your ticket and get a reduced price on 2022, click here."
I’m thinking it’s today, sometime between 11 and 3 CST. I’ve seen a couple smaller diy bands teasing really big announcements at noon today (could be literally anything, but riot fest needs small bands too) so that might end up being something
I know they like to troll people but after the tough year and a half we all went through being a troll at this point is uncalled for, especially when they can't afford to piss people off too much.
I was just wondering this same thing. Maybe there will be a month or so long window for ticket refunds/transfers to 2022, and then the special priced 2022 tickets will become available after that.
See Through Person was one I just saw today, and there was another one that I noticed a few days ago but can’t find now bc I didn’t really know the band and just kinda scrolled past.
TBH, I think that's why they haven't been responding to fan tweets so much. I'm legit shocked they responded to mine the other day... I don't think they'll dick around too much at this point. It's gotta be a straight drop or just a "It's coming at time X." I was thinking more like a link to confirm you're keeping the tickets that brings you to the discounted price. Because they want it to be only for folks who keep the tickets.
Definitely possible. What I meant was that perhaps the 2022 tickets will not be available until after the period to make a 2021 change is over. That way it is definitely confirmed that you kept your 2021 tickets.
