Could be. God, that would make attendance on that particular day pretty lopsided. Compared to the other two. But I would just as likely see them booking him, maybe 1-2 other acts like that and tacking them onto a stage with Simple Plan or New Found Glory too.
in all seriousness, why wouldn't Riot just announce it now especially since Kennyhoopla is already on the bill
Lots of potential crossover in that lineup. Would love to see Menzingers, NOFX, Devo, Gorilla Biscuits, Streetlight, Lawrence Arms and Riverboat Gamblers added.
The Menzingers need to play Riot again, their set at Riot 2017 was sooo good. And I would like to see Frank Turner, Gorilla Biscuits and Devo
Holy shit, that's an insane line-up. Would love to see NOFX, Devo, the Lawrence Arms, Gorilla Biscuits, ALL, the Menzingers, the English Beat, Riverboat Gamblers, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Good Riddance, and/or Municipal Waste at Riot. Realistically, I could see NOFX, the Larry Arms, Gorilla Biscuits, and the English Beat getting added (with the Beat being on the same day as Sublime with Rome, Hepcat, etc). If NOFX is on then I'd also say we have a decent shot at getting Good Riddance and Bad Cop/Bad Cop too. Honestly, if the rest of the line-up announcement doesn't bowl me over, I might try to convince my partner that we should do this instead. Riot Fest tends to roll out "waves" of line-ups rather than individual artists. Your average person is going to wait until the line-up comes out and pull the trigger on tickets. And I think that goes doubly for this year given the situation that the world is in. I don't think there's much to gain by announcing a single addition to the line-up at this point when most people are probably going to wait and see who the other artists are, anyway. The exception to this would be if it were an exclusive performance, or even a midwest exclusive where people might want to travel to see just that particular artist. But I feel like that's not going to be the case here.
Also when he played lolla in 2017 he played 130-230. Also I don’t get why everyone is making such a big deal about this. Yeah he’s a shit person but no one is forcing any of you to watch him. Go watch someone else or leave early.
Not sure if you're referring to my posts or not, but I'm not surprised nor am I upset that he's on the bill (from a music perspective, anyway; some of his personal takes are sketchy AF). But I do think it's really interesting from a marketing perspective when an artist pivots the way he has (and successfully so). If he is on the bill, I'll be really curious to see how high up he is, the other artists he's paired up with, and what the draw is like. That's worth discussion, IMHO.
It’s been talked about in other threads but if you must know go check out his thread for his latest album it’s towards the end last 3 or 4 pages
I think he generally has a reputation as being an asshole; what with his beef with Eminem, some of his comments about “being punk” and the bands that were on warped tour, and the way he carries himself. I think at least some of it is a conscious choice- I think he wants to market himself as the “bad boy” of rap (now pop punk) because for some reason that sells. he also just held a big show with no social distancing or masks. There’s definitely valid criticism that can be made about that, but it’s also no worse than what New Found Glory or Madball have been up to. Not sure if that’s what OP was referring to.
I haven't seen it mentioned here I don't think, but Conditions pressed Fluorescent Youth for it's 10th anniversary last year and said they had some reunion shows planned for 2020. They were a hometown band for me so my concept of their popularity is a little warped, but I feel like they'd be a good fit playing that album in full at Riot
