the 2 non famous member of FOB also played 2019 as part of The Damned Things. FOB is big enough to not need riot to advertise for them, especially in a smaller venue like that

I mean, they're slated to play Hella Mega. But if that falls through as a whole, I could see them being slotted in as a headliner. That would be fine by me. Not quite as good as MCR but...

The one thing that wouldn't add up here is the fact that FOB is on Hella Mega and supposedly, they already have the headliners lined up. Sounds like the reason they couldn't announce today is that there's some ink left to dry on a certain contract.

If it's FOB or Green Day that means Hella Mega is cancelled and they need to wait on that tour to announce their cancellation first. (Which would make sense, TBH.)

But in all sincerity, I'm putting that happening at like, a very low chance of 5%. Haha. It would be a very weird look.

I think the odds of them being added are pretty good, assuming they plan on playing any shows in 2021.

Not reading too into it but the Riot Fest email had this.

“You can see the current Riot Fest 2021 lineup here, with the remaining headliners and full lineup to be unveiled soon. We’ve been hard at work putting together what we think might just be our best lineup yet.”

Can’t ever recall a time they ever did a hype like that.

  4. I would kinda expect whoever replaces MCR to be a band that fans of MCR would like too so they can try and retain some of the people that bought tickets mostly to see them. Idk if it would be a fit for sure, but like, Panic?

EDIT: To be clear I know PATD is not as exciting or big as MCR (but there's not a ton of bands that are, particularly in that genre)

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

My brain keeps telling me that Twenty One Pilots are gonna take their slot and the very thought of that scares me

I also thought on Panic and Twenty One Pilots as a possibility. And Riot have had a lot of Fueled By Ramen bands (there even was a Twenty One Pilots ad on the schedules they give at the entrance in 2018). But I really hope they dont go that way.

I’d love to see RX Bandits, Night Verses, Killswitch Engage, Touché Amore added.

I’m so down for RX. It appears they may have touring plans for 2022, but maybe Riot this year could happen

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Was also thinking Pavement might be a possibility.

I feel like they say something about how awesome the line-up is every year. Or how they can’t believe they pulled something so great together.

But calling it “best line-up yet.” Strong words!

I think they’re already confirmed to not be doing anything this year.

Would hardcore prefer MGK over Twenty One Pilots. Like, by a lot.

    Fingers crossed they’re on Lolla.

I'm still hoping for either FOB, PATD or Paramore doing their first album. Probably not happening with PATD but if that happens it would be a huge deal.

Doubt it’s happening with Paramore, Hayley is focused on her solo releases and will want to tour those I’m sure.

That is a good point of them trying to replace MCR with someone similar. Blink would have been the easiest and most sense if they didn't just play and aside from FOB, Panic, TOP I can't think of anyone else headliner worthy to fill that slot

Really hoping for a heavy dose of Punk & Ska in this next wave though. Severely lacking on that front

Hayley has said that she's turning her focus back to Paramore actually, but I also don't see them ever doing album plays of older material

I was really hoping for them to do a "Riot!" set for its 10 anniversary at Riot 2017 :(

The only chance to hear some of those Riot jams is on their cruise at this point unless they retool them like they did for Crushcrushcrush

I was going to say that I hope that they don’t have 21 Pilots or Panic as the headliner but then I remembered that there is always someone else closing a stage that I like. So I’m excited to see who it is but I won’t be that disappointed if it is someone that I don’t like.

That means I just get to retire to the hotel a little early

(Just kidding. Honestly if P!ATD gets announced of probably watch them. They’re pretty fun live. Or at least they were on the Weezer tour a few years back)
