That'd be fun. Though I'd prefer the Longshot over the Hot Tubs. I forget what European festival it was. But the night before their headlining slot at one of them they did a surprise show at a small club and played Dookie front to back.
I think they did 2 or 3 clubs shows and they played it in full at Reading 2013, proshot version should be on youtube
Sucks, like really sucks, but not the end of the world. Definitely keeping my tickets this year as there are still a ton of acts that I'm hype to see. And if anything it just gives me a reason to get tickets for 2022 as well!! All in all not the end of the world but a bummer nonetheless.
They played Riot Fest the last time it happened and didn't headline.. also didn't headline in 2014, they may play but won't be headliners
I'm leaning towards pretty sure ETID is booked.. they announced a tour overseas in Europe in December, so they'll be touring the states before that
Rise against is usually always top 6 on riot fest and close out whatever stage they play on. They headlined the whole thing in 2012 and where the first band in the poster before it blew up and got turned into a huge fest. Every year they’ve played they’ve closed whatever stage they are on. Also they could play this year or next year. Depends on what their plans for the fall this year actually are cuz they do have a tour planned but also have plans for just Chicago which could mean riot fest.
I think they played before Slayer in 2019, c'mon man.. those two main stages count as one to just save time for setup
I think looking at Punk Rock Bowling and Furnace Fest gives us at least a handful of more acts. The rest of PRB's lineup is coming next week as well I at the very least think ETID, NOFX and Larry Arms are locks
Bad news: No MCR in Riot 2021 Good news: Special price for Riot 2022, new headliner, MCR in 2022, less screaming teenagers in 2021
If the Hella Mega wasnt a thing, I would bet on Fall Out Boy. Chicago band who headlined in 2013 and would draw a similar crowd as MCR
i dont know if im banking on it, or even rooting for it, but FOB sounds like the most logical replacement - hometown, established relationship with riot, huge name, their tour is up in the air, similar fanbase to MCR.
They played once 8 years ago, and the next time they were in Chicago doing a gig during Riot.. they played HOB instead that Riot didn't advertise
Yeah, it was a release show for (the awful) Mania, which could also happened at Riot. But in 2019 they had The Damned Things with half of FOB, so I dont think they have a bad relationship with the band
