I think any small risk that idea had is completely abolished just by the idea of seeing live music again and getting out there.

Agreed. I think given the circumstances, the hype would be there.

if i had 12-15 months with all-bands-playing-riot playlist id would absolutely be more hyped by the time Sept 2021 rolls around

An electronic music festival in Kansas, which is the same weekend as Riot, has green light to go forward (for now)

I mean, I kinda figured most people who post here on the reg would be all about it. Haha. I was talking more about your average attendee... But, y'know what? I think you all are probably right.

Especially since 2020 feels like an effective wash, it's not like my excitement to see a certain band is going to die out between now and then unless I suddenly decide I don't care about them (which probably won't happen).

So yeah. Now I'm hoping for an early 2021 line-up release!

Would love to echo the support in here for a 15-month-in-advance lineup.

Pointfest in Stl was rescheduled to the same weekend as riot has been cancelled

Yeah I don’t think what other festivals are doing in other states has much relevance to Riot Fest unless the Covid situation is comparable to ours.

Oh yeah, I have no hopes for Riot to take place this year, but I was surprised there are events that are still up for the same weekend

I have a feeling Riot Fest will be postponed but in April they will have a halfway to Riot Fest “fest” at Radius or Concord.

    That'd be ideal

A very boring fun fact: Kansas City is actually in Missouri

Another boring fun fact: Kansas City is also in Kansas because there are two of them...

The rescheduled Alanis Morissette tour is now the same weekend as Riot Fest 2021, so Alanis, Garbage, and Liz Phair are all out.

Another fun fact - Missouri share both of its biggest cities with another state, as both are on the border. splits KC with kansas, and splits St. Louis with Illinois, as there is "east st. louis" just across the river

So, we'll probably get a Riot Fest cancellation in what? A week?
