See you (most likely) also there. They are also coming back again with Oso Oso and Future Teens September 18.
I want to come up the 11th lot of good shows in Chicago that day.. I think Mannequin Pussy is that day as well
Yep, and Pinegrove are playing that day too (I know everyone has their own opinion on them, just pointing it out).
Yeah my friend is going up a day early for that I almost want to say there was one more but I can’t think of what it is
Wait where is mannequin pussy at? I just looked up their tour dates yesterday but didn’t see a Chicago one
Good to know. Idk if I’ll go cus I’ll still be tired from Riot and I don’t listen to those bands. I was supposed to go to Los Campesinos and Retirement Party on the night with Adult Mom but I really don’t listen to LC that much and see Retirement Party plenty so this feels like the right move.
Anyone have recommendations for areas to avoid staying? Looking at Air Bnb and the areas closer to the festival seem a bit sketchy.
public transportation from most of the city to the festival is super convenient, pick safe instead of close.. how many people are you planning to stay with, if it's just 2 or 3.. just get a hotel room on the loop through hotwire or priceline it'll all come out the same
PT last year was ass cheeks, Pink line took 45 minutes to show up on the way out and then was completely full when it did. Had to jog the 2.5 miles back to my car
I've seen them a few times over the years, though not in the last like, 6-7 years or so. From what I recall? They always put on a really fun show.
Looks like ticket prices increased, which I assume is a good sign for how this is selling so far! Feels like things are back on track this year. I just need the daily lineups
I’m guessing American Football and Against Me! are doing ones since they both all live in a Chicago. Same with Ganser, Kali Masi, and Sincere Engineer but those three could all be openers since they are smaller local acts.
I feel like the aftershows are generally pretty random. Last year in particular, I was (pleasantly) surprised. But generally, a mid-level reunion act is a safe bet for an aftershow. I'm seconding a guess that AM! and TBS will play aftershows as well, given the nature of their tours.
Gingerman Tavern has occassionally done acoustic shows over the years. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sincere Engineer do that (or just slotted as opener for AM!; that would work too).
American Football is probably out since they have dates on Friday and Saturday. My guess is they'll close a side stage on Sunday.
