When I saw that Slayer was headlining, I immediately ran to the Internet to find that episode of Viva La Bam where they play at his house.
Not sure but by the end of July, they should announce who is playing what day.. which does atleast help start planning an itinerary of bands you'd priority
Also how has this guy never played Riot... Open Mike Eagle brought him on stage last year at Pitchfork.. I've walked around the neighborhoods at Douglas Park this is accurate except for the beer onions, onions, onions, onions
Are you guys aware that they booked a Mongolian "metal" band? That's my favorite lineup find so far. Seems like a good get for Riot Fest since they were viral earlier this year and they are only doing 6-7 US dates. Barring some kind of uber conflict I definitely plan to check them out Been listening to Spotify RF playlists the past couple of days and am getting really hyped. The lineup is GREAT even if there wasn't some huge reunion
True! I meant like, a new reunion, we hadn't heard about, or something. I dunno. The speculation was running pretty wild and I bought into it a bit so I was literally expecting The Kinks or something. In hindsight, a bit stupid. Bikini Kill is great.
I admittedly was unaware of Bikini Kill. I have seen the name before, but had no clue they were ever not a band. Can someone explain the significance of the reunion, any bad blood or anything?
They were basically the first 'riot girl' band in the 90s, broke up over 20 years ago. I'm a very casual listener of them but I know it's a big deal for the scene so I'm stoked.
Here's something that should be (hopefully) fun: What tracks (excluding the obvious album plays) would you especially love the bands of Riot Fest to play? Could be deep cuts or a flat out hit.
Some of mine: The Raconteurs- These Stones Will Shout, Hands Rancid- Avenues & Alleyways Bob Mould- Gee Angel, What You Want It To Be, Feeling Better, A Good Idea (Sugar tracks) Guided By Voices- Teenage FBI (one of my favorite songs ever) Ride- How Does It Feel To Feel? Less Than Jake- Gainsville Rock City, Help Save The Youth Of America...., History Of A Boring Town H2O- Gimme that Like A Prayer cover!
I just want GBV to start playing Weed King again. I think there's a good chance you'll get Teenage FBI, it's in the current setlist Ween playing The Mollusk is exactly the set I'd want them to play so I'm happy about that!
I honestly don’t remember much other than just liking it, and I don’t believe they gave a title. There may be a vid in the Turnover thread
Somebody's getting kissed during the Blarney Stone by Ween if I have to pick a deep cut or song not normally played, I'd go "Generation Lost" by Rise Against, Rancid doing the Tim Timebomb cover of "Adalida" or "Let's Do the Rocksteady" (Rhoda Dhakar is apparently guesting with the Selecter on their current tour), "St James Hotel" or "Last Train" by Less Than Jake (hey, you wanted deep), and if Ween has time to play another 90 minute set like in 2016.... "Fluffy"
I would like to see LTJ play some of the non-singles off of Anthrm since I Have seen them play every song from Losing Streak and Hello Rockview already. That’s Youth is one of my favorite Anti-Flag songs but they never play it when I see them, do I would love to finally see that. My interest level in seeing Blink completely hinges on whether it seems likely that they will play Enema of the State.
