I prefer to think of it as a lot of getting paid to sleep on planes

if you think that's a lot of traveling, goof on Mumford & Sons all you want but they played Napa Valley in Northern California and England in a span of two days last weekend, and that jet lag can't be fun.. anyway

edit: I'm still standing by that booking Death Rosenstock, Menzingers, AJJ or name your band not playing would've been better than Village People.. people on facebook planning a wall of death, that's cute and all etc etc, but that booking fee could've gone to a band (or bands) that either aren't playing or took other Chicago dates

anyway Riot Fest did beyond an amazing job getting the lineup they did and peace and love, peace and love

 

Anyone else catch that Goose Island is the beer sponsor on the poster instead of XX? Riot Fest is the only time of year I drink XX, and for some reason I feel sad about this. It was part of the tradition.

Guess I’ll have to blackout on 312 now!

Village People is the strangest act they’ve gotten in all of their years and doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

 

It makes total sense

 

People actively wishing the Village People away are nuts.

 

I will say this, I have never been more curious to see the schedule just to see what bands are playing on the other stages at the same time...

Murder By Death and Screaming Females are great. Not excited about anything else in that Wicker Park Fest announcement but they usually end up with a pretty solid lineup overall.

 

I'm stoked about those two for sure. I've been passing on MBD of late as I haven't been that into the newer albums but this is one that I won't skip.

 

The Viagra Boys are pretty fun.

 

Gotta be some fun follow ups to this post, right? :)

 

That Wicker Park lineup is a bit disappointing so far. The Get Up Kids were great last year. So was Lemuria and Against Me! I hope they get a rising musician like Snail Mail again. The lineup just seems like a step down this year so far.

Hot Mulligan, Can’t Swim, Mat Kerekes, Pkew x 3, Microwave, Angel Du$t, Elder Brother, Kali Masi... I’m a huge fan of SO MANY middle/undercards on this lineup,& that rules

 

Next year I want Deftones and vampire weekend and a deep ass undercard

 

Last year being a bit of an outlier, when does the festival usually reveal the full schedule?

 

like a week before single days will be out in july if i recall correctly

 

Like set times and everything I wanna say generally about a month before the fest
