As much as I loved my annual trips, I’m kind of over it after last year. It would have to be a super special lineup to get me back.
im kind of the opposite, this is my 4th year in a row buying presale, 5th overall, and they still get the benefit of the doubt from me. I have yet to have a bad experience, and while the cluster that happened leading up to last year was odd, it didnt bother me much, and actually made it significantly better once the weezer/RTJ announcement was made as they are both in my top 5 favorite bands.
And now, for probably the saddest news ever... Smash Mouth will be in New Mexico the same weekend, so they won't be playing
I skipped last year completely and didn’t end up regretting it. That was the first I had missed since 2013.
Their twitter was dead yesterday, and has been silent so far today as well and we're nearing noon. Odd that they are running radio ads but not posting anything to twitter. Maybe they are working frantically behind the scenes trying to finalize everything
Full post here: The Riot Fest 2019 Lineup Announcement is Happening Tomorrow Also, check this out "Speaking of fortune tellers, you might want to check in with The Riot Fest Fortune Teller at 12:00pm CDT today… it looks like someone unplugged it…" edit: Incidentally, presale tickets have also gone offline. You'll have to wait till tomorrow to buy
I just realized what would make me the most sad because I can't go this year, it's Green Day playing Dookie. The only huge band on my bucket list that I haven't seen.
great video, even though 75% of it was Less Than Jake.. maybe they'll play 3/4 of their entire discography (or atleast everything but In With the Out Crowd)
If The Swellers end up playing I will lose my shit. Thought it was weird when I saw the video start with Nick
Whereabouts? It definitely wasn't in the series of posters at the end... I could actually see them getting a bunch of smaller acts who played the festival early on this year (e.g., the Swellers). Bands who are still on great terms with one another but who don't play much for various reasons. Though I honestly feel like that video was more of a "let's look back!" than a bunch of hints about who might be playing.
I feel like the "someone unplugged the fortune teller machine" site will be the hint videos that we all love and hate.
Anyone else find it odd that none of the information released in the video or on the website mentioned anything about waves? More likely that they're not calling it "first wave" to build more anticipation but is it possible we get the full lineup tomorrow?
Going to Spain on the 18th so if I end up taking off for RF I won’t work for like 2 weeks straight lmao.
My first year was 2013 and I have been every year since. A lot of my friends went in 2012 and I'm kinda bummed I didn't go with them that year
First year was 2012 for one day to essentially see Minus the Bear and Coheed back to back, 2 days in 2013, 1 day in 2015, all 3 days 2016/17/18.
My first year was in 2012, the first year they went "big." Prior to that it kinda just felt like a lesser-version of the Fest to me. And I've been back a few times since then - 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. I took a break in 2016 and went to Wrecking Ball ATL instead.
My first and only year at Chicago Riot Fest was 2013. I then went to Denver Riot Fest in 2014 and 2015. I'm flying all the way out from Oregon to go this year!
2013 was my first year. I just went Sunday to see TWY, Hostage Calm, and Brand New, then I left before the Replacements because it was raining and I’m a dummy. I moved to Chicago in the summer of 2014 and I’ve been to full fest every year since then.
