Deep Eddy pretty much handles that so I don't think that'll be a problemo, they sponsor a bunch of other festivals in the city as well like Ruido Fest, North Coast, etc.
The year they sold those 4 glass wine packs was a great/awful year. Watching Bayside while drinking rose was a great time.
KAABOO Del Mar 2019: Kings of Leon, Mumford & Sons, Dave Matthews Band to headline fwiw, Kaaboo shared 3 bands last year on the same weekend as Riot (it's probably not worth much)
Definitely no overlap in headliners, but there's a few undercard possibilities: The Cult, Silversun Pickups, Sublime with Rome, Toots & the Maytals Of these, I think Silversun Pickups and Toots are the most likely for Riot Fest. I would say Wu-Tang too, but they're touring 36 Chambers and they did that two years ago already.
Is it just me, or does Riot Fest feel like they're pretty wide open as far as potential headliners are concerned? Not a whole lot of obvious overlap with other festivals this year. Not sure if this is a great, or a terrible, sign for the line-up. But it's a thing.
A 1/3-full one of those flew through the air and landed in my hands during Alkaline Trio this past year, it was like a gift from the heavens haha.
Billing probably way off but how about this for an optimistic 15th Anniversary lineup? The Cure * Blink-182 * The Raconteurs Bikini Kill * Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Rancid * Rise Against * MC50 * Black Star Ben Folds Five * Violent Femmes * Toadies Taking Back Sunday * Andrew WK * GWAR Less than Jake * A$AP Rocky * The Struts Royal Blood * Tom Morello * Car Seat Headrest A Day To Remember * The Get Up Kids * Anthrax Against Me! * alexisonfire * The Interrupters The Adicts * Hot Snakes * Transplants Glassjaw * Mark Lanegan Band * Teenage Wrist
Hopefully this year is less chaotic/worrying than last year. Last year was a mess concerning Riot Fest.
Look, man. I don't want that either. But it's in the cards. Feels reasonable to me, although I don't know that the Raconteurs would be a top three. Any reason you're shifting from your earlier Slayer prediction? I can see the Cure, Blink-182, and Slayer as top three with Rise Against, the Raconteurs, and Bikini Kill starting the second line. I actually think we're gonna see NOFX on the line-up this year too, which means we'll probably see a few other Fat bands who have albums coming out (Teenage Bottlerocket, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Strung Out, maybe Pears) on the smaller stage. Maybe even a Cokie the Clown set (if not at the festival proper, probably at an after show).
LOL you all talked me out of Slayer. And I added Racs because they're going to be touring and were not on the Lolla lineup. If they end up on Osheaga's I'd call them a lock for RF.
I'll trade your cards for these apples. https://concerts1.livenation.com/ev...058.897578428.1553188553-398016543.1553188553
I think Raconteurs are a decent guess, honestly. Not convinced they're a top 3 headliner, though, in terms of hype and the like. But Beck wasn't last year either and that worked out. Slayer is one of those "wait and see" things, I think. I'd say it's 50-50. Wouldn't rule it out completely, but I don't know that there's any strong evidence that it's going to happen... I could see Duran Duran thrown into that Elvis Costello slot from last year (or direct support for the Cure if that plays out). Actually, that would work really well. They feel like a bit of a stretch... But it could work with the right headliner. I like apples, it turns out.
Regarding The Racs, because they haven't played in so long + Jack White I think equals #3 headiner, especially if they have Bikini Kill as a lead in.
Blink 182/Rise Against, The Cure/Bikini Kill, The Raconteurs/Slayer ? holding out hope on Green Day playing Dookie though Blink 182 (playing 20th Anniversary of Enema) <-- playing it in April The Cure (playing 30th Anniversary of Disintegration) <--- touring this in Europe Green Day (playing 25th Anniversary of Dookie) <---a boy can dream right
