They are touring this fall... for Riot, no clue, but they will be here for an extensive tour

My bad haha part of me thought you were talking about Beck. And I'm smacking myself on the head for totally forgetting that NIN played last year!

Beck will definitely headline the "indie" dat

exactly. the nyc and la dates they have announced right now are bookends for something bigger they have planned. it's definitely possible for them to play riot, but i just don't see it happening. especially because they'd be a second or third line band with how big they are, and we've had no hints that they are playing as we've had with similar bands that are on roughly the same level.

I couldn't agree more. They headline large theaters and need longer times for stage and such, dont see them really wanting to play Riot. BTW Prequelle is stellar.

they play fests all the time, they are doing Rockfest in KC this weekend and have done lolla and open air and a ton of metal fests previously.
havent heard the whole album but when they released Dance Macabre i thought it was a tad corny and sounded like 80's montage music... but then i saw them perform it last week, and holy shit, its a borderline showstopper.

edit - not certain they will be there, more arguing for them cuz i want them there, hah.

i still need to give it a listen, but hopefully it's less gosh darn cheesy than their last few releases.

I'm still praying that maybe they booked them for a 10-year Love Me Dead. That alone would make me 100% stoked about this lineup. But considering Ludo tweeted responded to my tweet about it by saying they'd be down a couple months ago, I'll have to assume they were not even considered.

Also would love to see Punchline on this one of these years, though it doesn't seem like it would be this year with the Spill Canvas tour.

I still see the keyboard player at comedy clubs every once in awhile as an emcee at open mics and opening for touring headliners

Yea that one! Haha Maybe they were just trying to throw us off the scent though? Doubtful but I will hold onto hope. Also apart from Love Me Dead, I'd do terrible, terrible things to see Whipped Cream live.

its still totally possible, if tool (or APC) headline, i could see ghost closing the stage next door , or just any non-main stage in the 3 way pre-headliner spot like last years paramore/MIA/prophets of rage, or even closing a stage directly against a softer headliner like beck.

if no maynard at all, they can easily be the highest metal band on the poster.

Just realized that Nothing announced a new album yesterday and don’t have touring plans at the moment. I think thy could be on

Face To Face announced a new acoustic album out July 27th. Maybe they'll play.

The last time they played was 2014 I think? They’re overdue for a performance there, I believe

Cobra Skulls haven't announced a show yet today, so that has my hopes up for them.

At this point I’m relatively convinced Beck is not actually playing lol

The thing I’m still most curious about is father John Misty cus I still can’t quite see him there but also can’t figure out why he’d skip Chicago on this tour.

  25. Beck is so obviously playing, haha.
