Also, this isn’t a hint in the teaser video, but I’m predicting Why? to be in the lineup.

They mentioned plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alopecia, so maybe they’re a full-album band this year.

With beck being one they obviously gave away... do we still think he is top 3? Would they give a headliner in a teaser?

 

I don't know if he will headline, but nine inch nails was teased in last years video.

 

You don't think Nine Inch Nails would headline Riot Fest? They've headlined festivals much bigger than this.

They have 3 shows at Aaragon Ballroom in October though so they're out.

 

Sorry that wasn't clear. I meant I am not the right person to say whether or not Beck would headline but that they had teased headliners in the past (nine inch nails). I never questioned last year if nine inch nails would have headlined.

Edit: Nine Inch Nails headlined last year and had been A clue in the teaser video prior to being announced. My point was that Beck being in this rears isn't any proof that he wouldn't be top 3.

I hope we get some more clues before 8. I was kind of hoping they would just drop some hints all day.

 

I really don’t understand why they didn’t just release the video last night as a surprise and do the lineup this morning.

 

Ok what if this teaser really is meaningless lol they’ve made a point to say the video contains NO line up clues which we all assume is sarcasm but wouldn’t it be kind of hilarious if it actually didn’t? Like they know people have been speculating some of these artists so they just threw it in there

Beck is 1000% a headliner.

 

Colors has been extremely successful and he’s been playing some big venues (he’s playing the Hollywood Bowl in September, for example) so there’s no doubt he’d be a headliner

 

Any possible way Mastodon or Ghost plays ?

 

Ghost would make a lot of sense

 

Whether or not Beck is a top 3 headliner depends squarely on the other acts booked, I think. He could just as easily be second line as top three, IMHO.

If he is the headliner, though, I'd say he's #2. Behind a much bigger act, but before a reunion act (thinking the QOTSA slot last year).

 

Ghost is almost a guarantee. No Chicago date on this tour, not playing Lollapalooza.

 

Would they attract a Riot Fest crowd ?

 

Hell yes they would. More than Lolla.

 

wouldn't say ghost is a guarantee. lol. they're a band from overseas that has nothing booked in september and arena tour dates booked on each coast in nov/dec. i'd say it's far more likely they play the aragon or other large area venue on a late fall tour imo.

but scooby doo chase tunes would be a great fit at riot so wtf do i know?

 

ghost & RTJ definitely my top 2 hopes. Though with a lot of acts we now know, a fair amount of spots on lines 2-4 (where they would both most likely be placed) already being filled with the likes of costello, dropkick and alkaline, so im a little nervous..

though on the brightside, we are more than half way through the 12 hours between tease and reveal...!!
