I saw Sufjan at Pitchfork a few years ago. Very unimpressed. He doesn't have that Illinois sound anymore, just electronic and light shows.

I'm going to see Solo tonight at 7 so probably won't get out until 9:30ish. It's going to be really hard to keep my phone in my pocket once it starts blowing up about the lineup

that was the best set i have ever seen

also his festival set is very different than his club set, the carrie and lowell set was super stripped down and heartbreaking

If I recall correctly one of the polka players had a limp and all of the people in the videos spoke using their mouths so I think we're getting both bands sry

I don’t remember his name, but the dude in the black hoodie in the record store scene of the video looks like one of the dudes from Smoking Popes. Could they be playing? Especially since they’re touring on the 20th anniversary of Destination Failure?

 

Also, speaking of failure, Failure doesn’t have any touring plans so far this year and just released two EPs with a third one on the way. Are they a possibility?

 

I thought that was Derek from Alkaline Trio? (Who was in--or might still be in--the Smoking Popes.)

But I think the Popes were ruled out because of 350 Fest.
