Is Brodie still married to the guy from Rancid?

No, I think they divorced back in 2003.

It looks like the Distillers are playing in LA on the Saturday, so now I'm not so sure about them playing. Maybe Riot Fest didn't try to book them because they didn't want to upset Tim and ruin the Op Ivy reunion (/s; I wish).

I didn't realize that video had the dates at the end, hah. Yeah. They're probably out, given that there's another CA date three days after the Saturday.

The Armstrong, Brodie, Homme situation was pretty awful from I what I remember reading back in the day. I don't think Riot would book them the same year, even this many years out. No need have a potential bad situation.

I honestly had no idea what went down but... According to this interview with Brody, the Rancid camp made shit really difficult. Super shitty/sketchy/creepy.

I mean, we're essentially a half a day out and I keep checking my inbox for some errant Do312 email inadvertently breaking news about the lineup.

Yeah, Tim and Rancid made it difficult, but if I remember correctly, Brodie and Josh Homme were sneaking around behind Tim's back. It was an all around bad situation. I remember all three parties throwing pretty heated comments in the press.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Blink-182 just canceled some shows for this week. Their Toronto date is now September 18... Two days after Riot Fest ends. Interesting.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I could see Alkaline Trio playing because of that.

Damn they even rescheduled a festival headlining show. That’s not good. Hopefully everything is good with them and their families.

But they shouldn't have bailed on Bunbury Music Festival a few days before the event. It's a bit messed up for the fans. I get that it may be hard to drive across the country since Travis doesn't fly but they still should have played Bunbury.

Edit: Looks like the Iowa May 30th date was cancelled due to "circumstances beyond our control pertaining to a band member’s family". I'm guessing this played a factor to the Bunbury decision also.

I know the lineup comes out in less than 12 hours but the Nil are playing a festival in Ontario that weekend so me thinks they're prob out.

My final wish is that Tool is on the roster. And also Tiny Moving Parts.

Y'know, looking at that announcement again... It just says "the fun begins at 8am CDT." Everything else just says the line-up is coming on Wednesday, May 30th.

I'm thinking we're in for another drawn out announcement.

Someone on the Riot Fest Street Team posted on Reddit that they received an email stating that the lineup would be released at 8PM. RiotFestTwitterGuy told him that 'you probably shouldn't be sharing internal emails.' Original post was deleted.

So who knows. That email could have been typo. Or we'll have 12 hours of fun tomorrow.

Earlier today, I was going to post about how Riot Fest never seems to have leaks that some festivals have... There's always one or two acts, never anything huge. But in general things are tight-lipped about the announcements and when they'll go down, etc.

I'm shocked they sent out an e-mail to people with that info. And even more shocked that somebody had the audacity to post about it on Reddit so brazenly. But since it was deleted... It's either an elaborate disinformation move on Riot Fest's part, a sociopath, or the truth.

So yeah. Who knows. It's the Internet. Could be anything. But there's probably gonna be a mess of hints and stuff tomorrow morning.

If it's at 8pm, I'm'a be checking my phone at the New Found Glory show, haha.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Did we count Primus out? Because a 25th anniversary Pork Soda set would be dope.

Also, we’re Pixies counted out because of their tor with Weezer this summer? Because I’m thinking a 30th anniversary Surfer Rosa set would he extra rad as well.

I'd be into it if it winds up being like, "a new teaser video every hour!" or something stupid like that that's actually feasible to figure out (but leaves you with some doubt)... But if it's that bullshit "one artist per hour" thing that a few festivals have been doing the last few years? It's almost always underwhelming.

I'd rather just rip the band-aid off and get one big surprise.

That Mastodon/Primus tour hits Chicago on June 6th. So it would be close, but I don't think it rules them out completely.

final (relatively realistic) wishlist before the fun begins: Ghost, RTJ, screaming females, Matt & Kim, yeah yeah yeahs, tool, bouncing souls, rancid, tsunami bomb, thrice, propagandi, mindless self indulgence, dresden dolls, saves the day
