I disagree on A7X actually, I very much associate their rise with the "Scene" explosion of 04-06 (although they did spinoff of it very quickly), which I've always kind of thought Riot Fest was covering. My rule is if they were on/would have fit on a Warped bill, they probably would work as a Riot act.

my thoughts exactly, except maybe amend it to"fit on a warped bill pre-2012" lol... the last few years they got real sketchy with the scenes they started catering to.

Montebello Rockfest lost a ton of money on Rammstein last year apparently. With a crew of almost 100, insane production and a huge asking price, I gotta think Rammstein is unlikely. Slipknot would be incredible but I don't really see them playing this either.

I don't remember, but what time of day has the lineup dropped the past couple years?

People always overestimate how much bookers, bands, etc. care about the "roots" that an act has. Avenged Sevenfold is a straight-up mainstream rock act now that caters very much to that particular audience. It would be like booking Kid Rock or Papa Roach, at this point.

I guess you could make an argument that Rob Zombie fits that mold too, but there's a certain sort of "credibility" that the acts they book bring to the table that Avenged Sevenfold just doesn't have, IMHO.

It's usually 10am CET. There was one year (2014, I think) where they announced it at like, 7 o'clock at night -- but that was when they were rolling out three festivals all in the same evening.

I love how even when they're being helpful they're deliberately vague... Any other festival would have said, "Sign-up for our mailing list! The line-up is coming in two days!" Haha.

I'm guessing there's an e-mail coming tomorrow that breaks down the announcement plan for next week.

I hope they're not aiming for Tuesday as that's usually when Lolla announces after shows and will take a lot of attention off of them. Or maybe they're hoping to hide.

I hope they announce the lineup via mailing list only at 3:31 tomorrow morning.

If you want to get technical about it: It's the announcement of the announcement of the method of the announcement of the announcement.

If Lolla is planning to announce after shows then, I'd imagine they'd wait until Wednesday.

10/10 would stay up for it to be released.

This is the first year I don't feel any sort of anxiety over the lineup because I already have a 3-day pass. I''m just excited and curious.

    same! 4th year overall
3rd year buying blind during holiday presale
1st year bumping up to VIP (deluxe baby! Once i gauge the vip situation, i expect some of you to come get free beers from me!)
Im so hyped, its like those websites that you pay to surprise you with a vacation - "heres everyting you get to go experience, not to mention your new playlist for the summer!"

I was gifted a weekend pass by my Ex-boyfriend for Christmas so I’m just patiently waiting for the lineup to come out, while filled with existential dead.

I've done VIP every year I've gone, and I've always felt like it was worth it. Never pulled the trigger on deluxe VIP, though... Bold move, my friend. Bold move!

The open bar is enticing, though.... Especially since the drink tickets for regular VIP seem to keep dwindling every year.

haha, i talked my self into it as a gift to myself for paying off student loans since total cost of the ticket would equal just 2 more months of loan payments

RIght on! And congrats on paying them off! Mind if I ask how much the deluxe VIP was?

Thought that might be you! I'm guessing we get an announcement for a line-up announcement tomorrow for next Wednesday with some sort of teaser video coming on Friday/Tuesday.

I really doubt they would announce it on the Tuesday after a long weekend.

for the holiday presale it $699 +fees. i also bought a reg 3 day pass at $130 thinking i would sell the deluxe if it wound up not being a line up for me, but then the i saw the fine print about VIP's not being transferable so im locked into that one which is a-ok with me, now just riding the wave and hoping for the best.

Not TOO bad. Bet it's a big jump up after the presale, though... I may nix two nights of my hotel stay to crash on a friend's floor to make-up some of the difference if I decide to do that.
