Whatever came of that rumor that Saves The Day is gonna break up this year?

They’ve been dead silent since the Chicago show (Chris on drugs). Chris hasn’t been on social media at all this year. I assume there’s a lot happening behind the scenes we don’t know about. I just hope they at least do some final dates instead of fade out into obscurity.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if Saves the Day went the way of Polar Bear Club and just up and stopped doing stuff without a proper goodbye.

Came in here to also say that Cursive was announced for Fest. I’d consider them a Riot lock as they’ve also just finished their new album. They haven’t played since I think 2012 at like 11:45am.

 

Really hope Piebald is likely too.

I can definitely see Lagwagon doing it this year. Especially if they do the album!

I'd love to see Tsunami Bomb, Audio Karate, and/or the Stereo from that Fest line-up! Though I'm really not sure where any of those bands would wind up on the bill. They feel oddly sized popularity-wise (maybe late afternoon on the small stage?)

I feel like System is out simply because they did it a few years back. I think Incubus might be in the running... But they're playing that Kaaboo Festival in California that weekend which makes them quite a bit less likely.

 

Think Maps and Atlases or Pedro the Lion would play Riot?

 

Both would be great but I think they both already have Chicago shows this summer/fall. I know Pedro does at least.

 

Not that there was a big buzz about them playing, anyway, but Ash is out... Playing a show in Chicago on 9/19. I could have seen them in the same spot as the Cribs.

 

How about Mars Volta?

 

15 year anniversary set of De-loused would be cool, but seems unlikely. Isn’t ATDI still touring this year?

nothing in September and in the US in October. They did say "Be Back Soon" recently.

 

Confirmed were likely getting the lineup sometime next week.

"Same time as always" just means mid-April through mid-May, haha. But them beginning to address people asking about that shit means it's probably around the corner...

EDIT: They also tweeted at somebody who said they hoped the announcement would be next week and said "It wont' be" so probably the "usual" time (i.e., in May).

 

They posted a link about The Cure also, i would love to see that happen.

 

Their set was one of my favorites ever until they ran late and couldn’t do their encore. A full like three hours now would be perfect.

 

Would love The Cure as a headliner.

Riot is advertising a The Fever 333 show this spring. I can see them being on the official lineup.
