Would guarantee that I'm able to see a second stage headliner for once. Those conflicts always suck, and I have zero interest in seeing Janet Jackson.

In other news: You can rule Glassjaw (and presumably Quicksand) out. Hitting up Concord Music Hall on July 8th.

Janet Jackson would be a huge disappointment, if only for the fact that every festival in the world seems to have her and RF always does a good job of getting surprise acts. If they start picking all the same ones, yikes.

Aren't there a few of the "bigger" picks still in play that people were guessing initially? I'm thinking of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and N.E.R.D., specifically.

I just had a weird vision in my head of Green Day, Janet Jackson, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as top three with My Bloody Valentine, N.E.R.D., Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, and Stone Temple Pilots on the next line... And it kinda seemed like it could all gel together?

Janet Jackson just sounds so out of left field for them, but I guess good for them for doing something different? She's been on a few lineups, but not really that many and usually the more Riot Fest sized ones. I can't say it's really my top pick.

I can't really imagine it going over very well with the general Riot Fest attendee.

Since Wu-Tang was last year, we get Snoop this year right?

Feel like Janet Jackson would be a fairly large misstep for this festival.

i have a lot of respect for Janet Jackson, but she is a laughably bad fit for Riot Fest

Can't decide if Nerd is gonna go Riot or North Coast.

The Flaming Lips are also still not scheduled in Chicago - though they've been here frequently enough that it's not impossible they just aren't playing this year. Father John Misty and Bleachers are both missing Chicago dates as well. I could see any of these going either way between Riot and North Coast (or neither).

I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson show up. I don't think David Byrne's June tour dates rule him out for Riot Fest, considering all 3 shows are sold out.

Against Me! seems due to appear again.

I'd like to see Charly Bliss, Snail Mail, The Sidekicks, Petal, Tancred, Bleached, Bad Bad Hats, Tiny Moving Parts, Punchline, and Hot Mulligan as some of the smaller bands that play.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Janet Jackson wouldn't be a good fit for Riot Fest.

That being said, I would lose my shit in the pit during All for You.

Honestly Janet Jackson would make a loooy more sense at North Coast and they're right around the same time so I wonder if someone mixed up some info.

Think Willie would be more realistic than Bob, but crazier things happen. Quite surprised they haven't had Willie there yet to be honest. Outdoors in the Midwest in Fall may not be the best for him though.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I'm personally excited at the prospect of Janet Jackson because I love out of place acts at festivals (and to a lesser extent other shows, but the festival environment just makes it all the better).

There’s no way they would book Snoop again after what happened last time.

Willie would definitely be fun. He could take up the Merle Haggard slot opposing more of a scene type band.

He was supposed to play doggystyle in full showed up 30 min late and only play like half the album if that

Yep. And he got into an online fight with RF about it afterwards, so the whole thing was just a lot of bad blood.

i'd be more into them getting an act like Alanis Morisette if they want something out of left field

It is a lot, but I'm down for them to come back again as long as they're not a headliner this time.
