I'd be all about that. Stoked about seeing the Fever 333 up here in Boston this weekend!

Yes to all 3 even though The Fever's recorded material is pretty awful I would still like to see them

Also would like to see Incendiary, Trapped Under Ice, Stray From The Path, Stick To Your Guns and Counterparts in this vein of stuff

I'd love that, those guys never play aside from local shows and Fest it seems like

Reddit is saying that the Killing Joke is confirmed. They announced a U.S. tour and there's a Chicago date (9/14) with no venue and it just says "exclusive midwest performance." According to what I read, too, they'll be doing an after show too.

This is the first "leak" this year, right?

I feel like they'd be too small a band to reunite and play at Riot Fest? If that happens at a festival... It would probably wind up being at the Fest. That being said, I saw the news about the Space Camp repress today and immediately threw on Lady Melody. I forgot how great that record was. It'd be great for them to play a few shows again!

Count out Cake and Ben Folds. They'll both be in Chicago in late August.

I'm thinking next week or two weeks from now for the announce

Fest is announcing a week from today and I think this will be the first time that happens before Riot

My guess is April 11th. That's 4 weeks from the teaser notification on the app. It would make sense with last year's time frame as well. I'd say the 11th or the 18th for sure.

Those two are a bigger certainty than death and taxes at this point.

It's still crazy to me that there seem to be no clear indicators as to who the headliners might be (or even what might be on the undercard).

Usually at this point, there's a lot of discussion about who might be on the bill based on various clues/hints, etc. And there's just not much to talk about this year.

I'm growing increasingly curious as to what the poster is going to look like, as a result.

Assuming this counts out these bands? Although Greta and Welshly are playing Lolla so maybe not

Yeah this year I truly have no idea and it’s kind of worrying me. I hope it turns out to be amazing but I’m sort of afraid I won’t be into it. Kind of wishing I had planned on doing FOB and Billy Joel at Wrigley the week before...

Anyone ever been to Piqniq before? Is it worth going to?

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

The RIot Fest social media team is absolutely one of my favorite things associated with them.

After announcing the Initech collaboration and the sponsors, the "Initech CEO" is indicted on financial charges and had to be escorted out of the building. Now they have their regular logos up.

I just checked and there wasn't any crossover with Riot Fest last year.

Maybe not, but historically, there hasn't been any overlap between Riot Fest and the WKQX show I don't think. Realistically, I could really only see four of these bands (AWOLNATION, Dashboard, GVF, and the Front Bottoms) playing Riot anyway.

All of which I would have previously had as strong possibilities this year. Hah.

  22. I’ve been twice. Last year’s lineup was spectacular (The 1975, JEW, Bleachers) and I sprung for really good seats. If you’re into most of the lineup, I’d say it’s worth it, especially for cheaper lawn seats.

Only thing to note is that the first half of the day is on a parking lot stage so rain can be a factor.

Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, and the Cult announced a tour today. Skips Illinois and ends on September 2nd.

I feel like Bush would be out, and I would normally say Stone Temple Pilots or the Cult would have gone to Open Air but with that festival gone... I'd say it's a possibility. The Cult, in particular.

I'm predicting blink-182 for this year.

it's a good time. It's pretty cheap, so if you like the lineup it's worth it. It's just in an amphitheater, so I usually get the lawn tickets. They set up a stage outside where the first 5 bands play, then it moves to the amphitheater for the rest of the day. I'm guessing TFB closes that stage, or is the first band in the amphitheater.

So the short version is, yes, if you like the lineup it's a fun day.

I'm going to Harry Styles/Kacey Musgraves this night, but if TFB plays early enough, I'll probably try to make it to both because I'm weak when it comes to them.

I also don't think it rules anyone out for Riot Fest necessarily. I'm still hoping we get TFB at least. I wouldn't be surprised by Dashboard either.
