At this point, I'm guessing there won't be any sort of major reunion this year. But I definitely think one of the headliners is going to be a relatively rare get (like, an "only US performance in 2018" or "first US show in 10 years" sort of thing).

I just realized that The Promise Ring doing Nothing Feels Good in full would be ridiculously exciting for me. I’ve almost seen them a few times and something always comes up and stops it from happening. They’re probably my last bucket list band that makes sense for RF, and they played the year before I started going.

Wonder what happened there. The statement said something about not being able to "bring the caliber" of event that the fans deserve. Something tells me they couldn't bring in a big name headliner.

And I am still seriously at a loss as to who Riot Fest is going to have, hah.

The Front Bottoms are still an option. New tour runs through June with no Chicago date. I can see them somewhere in the range of a 3-5pm slot on the "second" set of main stages.

If they played the set they’re touring with this spring that would be incredible.

Yeah I think TFB will either be on here or Lolla for sure

They played Lolla in 2016. I feel like they'll be back at Riot Fest. Lolla and festivals like it tend to book bands like that once (as a "buzz" band) unless they have a significant jump in popularity.

Yea I think and hope The Front Bottoms are at Riot this year. I agree they haven't really had any change in status to warrant Lolla bring them back only 2 years later. If they are playing a non-Riot set, I would actually bet on Pitchfork, but I don't think P4K really cares about them. I think they could be like a 4 pm main stage at Riot Fest. I think they could end up bringing in a pretty packed crowd.

The Front Bottoms will probably play the same time frame that FIDLAR played last year.

Rockfest line-up is in about a week (March 14th). Should give us some hints as far as who headliners might be, etc.

They've announced a few bands already, but nothing particularly noteworthy or revealing as far as acts who make me go "Oh yeah! Didn't know they were touring and hey, they could play" (Lagwagon, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Dimmu Borgir, Motionless in White, Sum-41, the Toy Dolls).

I mean this has got to be the year Sum 41 plays right? It feels so long overdue, like such an easy booking for Riot Fest.

It'd be nice if they did a Does This Look Infected set there, seeing how quickly their show sold out.

I could see that. On the flip side, I could see them doing a normal set figuring they already did DTLI and they can do a set with a bunch of other songs.

Sum 41 would be awesome. I think Good Charlotte will play this year too since they were leaked last year but didn't end up playing

The War On Drugs was just announced, I guess as a headliner?

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

I really want: Tiny Moving Parts, Dessa, Shredders, Circa Survive, Strawberry Girls.

Yep I see that. I'm glad because I think the War on Drugs is good, but kind of a boring choice for headliner.

Dessa played last year, so I'd guess she won't be there... Decent shot at some other Doomtree project being on the bill, though (e.g., Shredders).

I'd put money on Tiny Moving Parts having a late afternoon slot on the smaller stage.

Looks like A.F.I. are releasing some 15-year anniversary merch for Sing The Sorrow. No tour announcement or anything like that yet, but... I can definitely see them doing this album at Riot Fest.

    I'd be all in.
