Obviously Jawbreaker is huge, but this looks like a lot of the same to me. Will most likely not end up going this year, although I was already leaning that way. Was gonna take a Bright Eyes or MCR reunion to pull me in instantly.
Paramore, A Day To Remember, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, The Lawrence Arms, Bayside, Mayday Parade, Real Friends, State Champs, Four Year Strong, The Story So Far, and Knuckle Puck. Definitely happy with the first wave!
I would watch... Nine Inch Nails Queens of the Stone Age Jawbreaker New Order Paramore Prophets of Rage A Day to Remember Taking Back Sunday New Found Glory Bad Brains Pennywise Bayside Say Anything Mayday Parade Streetlight Manifesto Buzzcocks GBH Real Friends Knuckle Puck Chon Slaves
Very excited to see Paramore, Jawbreaker, The Smith Street Band, and Hot Water Music for the first time, and I'll never complain about more chances to see The Hotelier and the Menzingers.
Maybe I'm in the minority but it's a pretty underwhelming lineup. It feels more like a "Denver" lineup than a Chicago lineup in my opinion. Other than Jawbreaker, it feels like it's a re-hashed lineup. I don't know what I was expecting but I'm still going to try and go out to it.
Lack of diversity aside, this lineup is maybe my favorite ever, even if it's all attributed to the undercard. Smith Street Band, Hotelier, Menzingers, Beach Slang, etc. are already justification enough for me to flight out to party on my birthday weekend. Everything else is just icing on the cake, and there is a ton of icing.
This is most def a Chicago lineup and not a Denver lineup. A Denver or Toronto line up would never get nin and qotsa
If it wasn't for NIN headlining on Friday I wouldn't be going to a single day. This undercard is the most generic I've seen out of Riot Fest in a long time.
