I remember walking right up to the guardrail 2 minutes before they went on. Anthony was in rare form that day with the mud on his face.
If I get a Paramore album announcement/single, the Riot Fest line up, and Paramore is on that lineup, then Wednesday is going to be a fantastic day.
I mean would anything but IARB really go over great in front of a festival crowd for the band at this point? In Defense is probably their second most well known album. (You're probably right, but I can dream). Yea that was amazing. It was my first time seeing him perform, so it was a hell of an introduction (and awesome that I got to see him with Saosin the next day).
I think a 40 minute set with a few from IARB, S/T, and Defense would be fine. I know that IDOTG came out when they were more relevant, but Self-Titled was perhaps more well received I feel.
wondering about the names too: Merrill Beth Nisker is Peaches' actual name, Ginger could confirm SP, but without D'Arcy I guess. Unless they're hinting at Halo Friendlies, which would rule.
Well I mean if they're not committing to an album, no way they only play from the first 3 (nor would I want that). But yea the In Defense thing is really more of a personal wish than what I think would actually happen. It'll probably realistically be a shaved down version of the tour setlist he does with Bayside (or a tour that he is doing later this year).
That Saosin set was odd as hell too since he kept calling the crowd his little chickadees. If I didn't know better, I'd believe he was completely high during both sets.
Paramore is one of the few bands I caan think of from this scene that hasn't played Riot Fest yet. Panic at the Disco? Simple Plan? Good Charlotte?
Hahah yea I think he's just kind of a weird dude like that. He definitely gets that demented look on his face when he performs.
Yea it's weird that Paramore hasn't played. I think the Maine is a pretty strange omission (hope they play this year), the bands you just said (although idk how well Panic fits in anymore), Sum 41 (who I expect on the second wave this year), not really the same thing but I think it's inevitable Green Day plays one day.
I remember meeting him once after his solo show a few years back. It was my friend's birthday so he went up asking for a picture and to do a shot with Anthony. Anthony politely declined the shot but posed for the picture. He then licked my friend's face while I took the pic. It was the oddest shit I've ever seen. Here's the pic:
Speaking of Anthony-- With new albums coming out I wonder what the likelihood of the following bands are: Circa Survive Comeback Kid (I don't think they've ever played RF?) The Wonder Years (have gushed about how much they love RF and were at the MCS final show at the Metro. Maybe they do an album release party there ala TBS??) Defeater
Curious to see who gets announced Wednesday. I expect some big names since early bird passes jumped up $30 in price this year.
I'd love Circa and ComebackKid. Can see Defeater (I miss that band) TWY played last year so I'd assume most likely not. They're writing an album now but I don't expect it to be out by Riot, Possibly not even this year
That's fair about TWY. I thought they were further along in the recording process, but was really just basing it on my memory of there being an Instagram post about writing new songs around New Years
Yeah as far as I know they're still just writing. I'm glad they seem to be taking their time on this one though. With NCTH it seemed like they were rushed towards the end and needed a few more weeks to work out some stuff but couldn't because of deadlines. Excited to see what's next for them! I haven't seen Circa in a while so I'm hoping they'll be on this year. Anthony is a great performer no matter the setting.
So may be a stretch but the peach is also featured on the new From First To Last Single. FFTL reuniting for one show with Sonny Moore?
