Wow!!!!!!!!! What a get!! Danzig a few years ago was fun enough but this....this!!!!

    What...a....fucking.....get

And are they legit headlining? Like, the main stage? If that's true I'm so proud of riot fest

Don't think that we will find out until next week, but I would think so. This has got to be a bigger deal than Modest Mouse right?

  3. There's no way they're not the main headliner.

It's a bigger deal for punks and the Grand scheme of music, fuck yes and yeah I mean I guess the replacements headlined too. It just makes me so happy that this festival is still focusing on PUNK music as its headliners. I and we all assumed eventually they'd have to sell out more and more

I like Astro Zombies. My Chemical Romance covered it for the Tony Hawk's American Wasteland game.

That soundtrack was incredible. Some of the covers, not so much, but I still go back and listen to quite a few.

And as for leaving early, count on 2 or more bands playing against them even if they are headlining the biggest stage. This is not a one headliner a night kind of deal.

Blasphemy! And it isn't like they won't have other acts at the same time (which I will definitely be skipping).

btw and as excited as i am, I still can't buy a 3day pass. It's not in my nature. Worst comes to worst i'll buy single day tickets when they come out but haha there's still 20 hours of entertainment that needs to be filled.

Do we really think Motion City Soundtrack will play Riot Fest one month after their farewell tour ends? It just seems like an odd way to for them to leave. After going out on their own terms, their final show(s) will be at a multi-day festival?

  14. I think they'll play an aftershow as well.

I'm sure they're a headliner in that they'll probably close whatever stage they play -- but Riot Fest arguably had 4 "headliners" per night last year. Calling a band a headliner doesn't necessarily mean they're the last to play at a festival of this size. Still, though.

I'm pretty amped on this! Hopefully the rest of the line-up is solid enough for me to want to go all the way out there. I love the Misfits, but not enough to drop the cash on a hotel, etc. for the weekend unless the rest of the line-up is really strong. Already doing Wrecking Ball so it's going to need to be truly special.

    Always hoping for Jawbreaker...

Probably a weekend opener on Thursday because they need the tune-up.

  17. Did you also leave early for The Replacements? Why would you ever do this?

I stayed for a few songs and left. Three days of a festival takes a toll on a person.

I'd say it's almost a guarantee that they'll play. With no Chicago date announced for the farewell tour, it's really the only scenario that makes sense. If I were betting, I'd say they're playing the fest followed by an aftershow (which will essentially be their last Chicago show).

It's not a month after their tour ends. They are playing dates overseas up until 9/14. I think RF makes a lot more sense for a final show than Japan, especially if there is an aftershow. The lack of any Chicago date is certainly conspicuous.

They're playing Riot Fest. Both Denver and Chicago are missing from the dates. That's not hard to figure out.

i think it makes perfect sense too. While a lot of MCS fans are scrambling around trying to find out what the LAST SHOW is going to be, doesn't it make sense to have the last show be in the middle of the country where there's no cap for people. (or have the last show in MN)

This and then also just the fact that they're going to have a much larger crowd playing a festival like this than if they did just their own show. It's a cool way for them to go out on top. I really hope so because being at their actual last show would be awesome!

Violent Soho I would guess is a lock. No way they're doing their first US tour in 6 years and not playing a Chicago date. Tour ends the day before Riot Fest too.

Also I don't think MCS will play TBH but maybe.

The only thing that makes me think they won't be is that Riot fest would be 3-5 days after their last Japan date depending on which day they play. I mean thats totally do-able, but if I was going to japan, I'd be in no rush at all to leave.
