Morrisey played a video, which I guess he does at all of his show since he doesn't have an "opener". It acts as his opener, is this true? I was told that. But he finally came on at 8:50, we bailed after 5 songs to watch Nas for twenty minutes. I looked up Moz's setlist and it seemed he usually plays 21-23 songs and did 17 tonight. Which is lame because he could've got them all in. Anyways, it is is what it. Now I'm just waiting to go into the Double Door until closer to 12.
I guess what erks me the most is that another band could have played in the time it took for Morrissey to make it to the stage. Regardless, today was great. Every band I watched I'm glad I saw.
Lucked out and I'm at Thursday right now! Should be great. Can echo that the Hives ruled today. Denzel Curry rocked the half set that I caught too.
Thursday was unreal. Possibly one of my favorite shows I've ever seen. I'm so happy they closed with "Turnpike Divides."
I had an amazing time yesterday. The Rock stages was where it was at yesterday! The Vandals are one of my favorite bands that I hadn't gotten to see yet and they did not disappoint. Fucked Up were just as great as I have always heard they were. The hives were fun to watch even though I only know one song. The toasters sounded good and were a great way to start off the day. I always love singing along with the Descendents. And I made a last minute decision to not leave Social D earlier to catch all of Morrisey's set which appearantly may have been the best decision I have made all weekend.
Apparently I missed everyone! It was crazy up front but I stood back and just watched the chaos from super close. Didn't see any members that I know of.
Have had a great weekend so far! Will do a write up when I get home tomorrow. Just want to say that B&C easily had the worst set of the weekend and I doubt anyone will be worse today. I'll be in a blue PUP tee, watching TWY, Dirty Nil, The Falcon, Andrew WK, Creeper, Underoath and a few more today so say hey if you see me! Going to Five Star Bar tonight as well, had a blast Friday night with SYG DJing.
I'm going to assume it'll be very similar to what they played Yesterday plus like 5/6 more cuts. Similar to their farewell tour setlist.
Oh no worries. I tweeted at the metro and they're normally food with responding back. I'll post in here when I find out.
My buddy parked near Roosevelt & Western laSt night. It's about a 20 minute walk from the park but it's free.
Garrett Dale (Red City Radio) is doing a show at GMAN tonight and Geoff Rickly is doing a DJ set at Beauty Bar.
Yeah it was wild up front. I started right in front of Tom and got pushed far stage right pretty quickly.
