I think the announcement of the stream said there will be more details released tomorrow. Edit: oops. I meant Thursday, not tomorrow. For some reason I was thinking Thursday but wrote tomorrow. I guess I just can't wait for this weekend to get here!
Friday - 80/67 60% chance of rain Saturday - 79/61 20% chance of rain Sunday - 78/61 10% chance of rain
Boooo!! But I guess it wouldn't be RF if it didn't rain and ruin the ground. Hopefully they got it together and will put more protection down. In other news, we are on the way! Can't believe it's finally here. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you guys this time. I'm assuming Thursday and MCS aftershows will be a good time to do that.
too hot. I'll be leaving tomorrow evening. Might catch a tim kinsella show tomorrow night. @ClemTiger0408 had a good idea with the lagunitas. I'll be going there for some beers as well during the fest. Theres a sweet taco bar right near double door that could be a good meet up before/after thursday show
I plan on getting to the park a little before 2:00 on Friday. Dillinger Escape Plan is the first band I was to see. Refused is the last band I want to see so I will need to find something to do between their set and the Taking Back Sunday after show at 11.
My airbnb cancelled less than 24 hours before our check in tomorrow, today is gonna suck. If anyone has any leads on relatively affordable places to stay please let me know, or recommendations for neighborhoods I should look at for a replacement that won't be super hard to move to / from with public transportation
They definitely do in VIP. Last year they had lots of cocktail choices that weren't too much more than beer. I don't think they sold those to GA though.
We were originally staying a little bit south of the university of chicago on South Kenwood, so I'm looking at other Air BnBs in the area. It seems like the host will get fined $100 and lose listing privileges at least temporarily but that really doesn't do anything for the fact that i'm getting on a plane tomorrow at 8AM and now have to find a new place to stay. I'm gonna contact AirBNB and see if they'll give me some credit to use towards a new place since it'll probably be more expensive but at this point i'm following all leads since another air BnB depends on the host being timely with accepting our request and what not.
Wish i could help out more. Ill be bothering some friends and crashing on their couch with my gf. What was your plans to get to riot fest from that area? I'll be staying near the uni too.
We're staying out by the airport and taking the free shuttle to and from the airport and getting on the train for the weekend. It's not as fancy as an Air BNB but the area wasn't bad last time we stayed and it was like $70 / night.
How safe is Pilsen? we found one that is supposedly walking distance from Riot Fest so we are looking at that.
What's the address/cross streets of where you're staying at? Pilsen, in general, is a relatively safe neighborhood. However, it's located to the east of the park, and you might have to walk through some sketchy parts to get there. The 18 bus runs through Pilsen will drop you right off at the gate if I'm looking at the Riot Fest map correctly.
