Man With No Money, Venue, Contacts, or Motivation Feels He Could Make a Better Riot Fest Lineup

 

Was just listening to Higher Power for the first time since I saw them last month and it seriously makes me consider a Sunday ticket, not to mention it would be the most stacked day for me.

 

Weird moment as I read this while listening to Higher Power and wearing my Dirty Nil shirt haha

 

Anyone going to Denver riot fest and wanna share a room or couch surf with 23 year old couple?

 

Observations/opinions on the lineup
Morrisey is getting such a long set, might go home not huge on him or Nas
Descendents/BN conflict is the most brutal one I've ever had a Riot Fest
Tiger's Jaw at noon on Friday might be interesting, really early for a band as popular as them
Thursday only gets 40 mins?!?!
NOFX only gets an hour!?!
Bad Religion only gets 40 mins!?!?!!
Not looking forward to missing Turnover but I got to see JEW

 

ehh they're punk bands. 40 minutes...an hour...this is a lot of time for punk bands

 

Here's a weird question:

Anyone going to either (or both) the Taking Back Sunday and / or Thursday after-shows want to split an Uber or Lyft? Lol.

 

I might be interested. It depends what time you plan on leaving Riot Fest both nights.

 

Seriously. If the Misfits had to play aa long as Lolla headliners, they would run out of songs before the set was done.

 

Yeah I saw Pennywise last year on a headlining tour and they only played 65-70 minutes or so. And I didn't feel shortchanged at all. Tons of energy and they still played 20+ songs. Punk shows are a bit different in that regard.

 

Most Lolla headliners only get the same amount of time anyway. An hour and fifteen, to an hour and a half is pretty standard for any festival. Still I agree that for punk bands especially they don't need much more. It is kind of weird that someone like Thursday though would only get 40 minutes, or I know Motion City only gets like 45 minutes in Denver for one of their final shows. Overall though there is definitely nothing unusual going on with the set times. Still miles better than warped or anything where everyone just gets like 30 minutes.

 

I'll have to figure it out but I'd think around 9:30.

 

Most that I had seen when I have looked at their schedules were closer to two hours. So that is what I was basing it off of.

I've decided that I'm going to watch 30-45 of Descendents and then head over to Brand New probably
