Really glad this happened. I feel like noon on a Sunday just isn't quiiiiiiite the ideal time for a Bronx show.
This schedule is really good for me. I just wish that Me First switched stages with underoath so I could definitely just camp for the Misfits.
Did they change the stage placements or is DCFC really going to be at the farthest stage from BN and Morrissey?
damn if i was going to this i would have ZERO overlaps. but then again, there just aren't really that many bands this year that i'd be dying to see so that helps. Friday: Big D, Specials, Jimmy Eat World, Refused/Ween, Nofx Saturday: Vandals, Motion City Soundtrack, Hives, Descendents, Death Cab/Social D, Morrissey Sunday: Billy Talent, Julliette Lewis, Tiger Army, Thursday, Bad Religion, Me First, Sleater-kinney, Misfits easy choices all around
Saturday worked out wayyyyy better than I could have hoped. My only problem is Brand New vs. Descendents, but I saw BN in July and am seeing them again in October, so pretty easy choice. Ready for Smoking Popes, Motion City, Fitz & the Tantrums, Descendents, Death Cab, and Morrissey. Friday is kind of rough though. I'm having trouble deciding between Basement and All Time Low. I know I should pick Basement, cus I've never seen them and I've seen ATL a ton, but I have such a soft spot for them. (I wonder what the chances are of them playing all of Put Up or Shut Up... it is the 10th anniversary and Riot Fest is the place to play whole albums or eps in this case). Bummed to miss Pierce the Veil, but I've got to go with the Flaming Lips, especially since I just saw them play all of Misadventures. Sunday is pretty good I just can't decide what combo of Joey Bada$$, Underoath, Jake Bugg, and Deftones I want to choose. This could've been much much worse though.
Fuck I knew it was gonna happen but Descendents and Brand New is gonna kill me. I should definitely do Descendents since I've never seen them and am seeing Brand New in October anyway but my girlfriend is gonna kill me if I make her see BN alone. Also really bummed about Microwave and MCS. Other than that nothing is too hard for me. Not sure if I'll watch ATL or Violent Soho/Basement yet either. Thursday and The Wonder Years playing at the same time is really fucking my shit up. My friend managed to get us tickets to Thursday's aftershow but still.

(Riot)
Attempt at a schedule: Friday: Tigers Jaw Big D Citizen Touche Amore Gwar Tancred Anniversary / Julian Marley split Set Your Goals Specials / Somos Glassjaw Jimmy Eat World All Time Low Refused Ween Flaming Lips / NOFX Saturday: Fucked Up Smoking Popes Motion City Soundtrack People Under The Stairs Balance & Composure Fitz & The Tantrums Brand New Death Cab Morrissey Sunday The Wonder Years Can't Swim Julie Ruin / Joey Bada$$ / Underoath Me First & The Gimmie Gimmies Sleater-Kinney Misfits
The only two BIG problem spots for me are Brand New / Descendents and Fitz & the Tantrums / The Hives. Still deciding what I'll do for the former, as I'm seeing Brand New in October, but my sister's favorite band is BN and she doesn't want us to split up at all. For the latter, I think I'll watch all of The Hives and watch the rest of Fitz, seeing that The Hives only get 40 minutes. Saturday 105 140 Fucked Up 210 230 The Vandals 230 315 Smoking Popes 315 415 Motion City Soundtrack 450 535 The Hives 535 615 Fitz & the Tantrums 615 705 Brand New or Descendents 715 815 Death Cab for Cutie 815 900 Morrissey
Dude... I mean, Microwave is good and all, but you may never get the opportunity to see MCS again. I'd take every chance you get.
I'm incredibly torn on Balance/The Hives. Balance and Composure Pros: Super great band, love just about their entire catalog Cons: I've seen them a solid 7 times, and they're really hit or miss live. Plus, the songs they tend to stick to live are gonna sound weird in a (hopefully) sunny outdoor environment. The Hives Pros: Unanimously hailed as one of the best live bands of their scene, almost never tour, especially stateside. Cons: I admittedly only know a handful of their songs. Halp
Seeing that you've seen Balance & Compsoure live seven times and The Hives never, I'd say go Hives. Also seeing how The Hives never tour and Balance will probably tour a lot next year with their new album coming out, it's all the more reason to see The Hives.
Yeah I'm not gonna skip MCS. I was just hyped on Microwaves new song/album announcement yesterday and bummed lol Also bummed because I have to miss them when they're here in October but I'll see them a bunch down the road
