Because I still have major paranoia about everything going wrong somehow, did you get my message a few minutes ago? I'm sorry it took me so long to respond.

Seeing a show there is a long dream of mine and this is amazing. I've never been in town for any of the cool shoes there and none of the aftershows have grabbed me here previously.

It's honestly my favorite venue in the world, and it's the perfect setting for this kind of thing. I think anyone annoyed that more people get to go now are missing the point.

Let's hope the Cubs don't play...

They do but it's a 1:20 game. Shouldn't be an issue!

Is the venue by the stadium?

  7. Yeah, it's within a few blocks of Wrigley Field. Take an Uber - parking is hell on a good day.

Yeah it's right across the street and up maybe a block. If you take the train (the red line takes you super close) to get there, you have to walk around Wrigley to get to it.

    *Edit- Yeah definitely don't drive.

Are double door tickets being honored?

Oh wow. The plan was definitely driving in. If I'm able to get another on Monday there's almost no way for it to work using uber.

I had to pay $40 to park across the street to see Finch the first time I went there because the Cubs were playing. I was in high school and so overwhelmed.

It won't be impossible, it'll just be a pain in the ass. That whole area is a massive clusterfuck right now because of all the renovating they're doing around Wrigley. What are your plans for that day so far? Are you gonna try to stay at the actual festival til it ends? Where do you have to get to after the MCS show? I'll try to help ya out the best I can with a plan of action once I know the details.

Oh man, thanks so much for the heads up. The plan is to stay until after Misfits and then rush over. I'm coming with someone who is only doing Saturday at the fest, so it would be really easy for them to pick me up afterwards. The problem is that they want to attend the show and the bigger venue makes that a possibility. So trying to plan the uber would be tricky. Although I guess they could uber to the park and pick me up? Can you do uber via points? I definitely appreciate all the locals looking out.

Look up the map of the CTA Red Line train on Google Maps. Find a stop that has reasonable parking very close to it, buy a CTA train ticket for 3 bucks, and ride the Red Line to the Addison Red Line stop. It's only a couple blocks away from the Metro and your wallet will be very happy

Thanks! Does it run all night? And do you happen to know of any safe spots to leave a car between the park and the venue? I can check the maps but I won't know the areas much at all.

Red line runs all night. But leaving directly from the fest, you'll have to take the Pink line to get to the red line. I think the pink line stops running around 1am. But yeah, the Uber bill would be murder because A) rates will be way hiked cause of the festival, and B) it'd be around a 40 minute drive.

And where is your buddy coming from? I suggest they just take the train and meet you at the pink line after misfits, then you take the pink line to the red line together. It'll take about an hour but it'll be stress free and there's two opening bands anyway so you'll get there in plentyyyy of time. After the show, I'd take the red line to as close to where you need to be as it will get you, then get off and snag a cab or Uber since the rates will have died down by then.

I know I won't be able to handle taking the train directly from the fest. Seeing the piles of people always looks like such a nightmare and I will be freaking out to get there. I thought you were recommending them driving by and then dropping the car near a red line stop on the way and picking it up after. We're staying in Wicker Park if that helps any. I haven't ever looked at where Metro is in the city.

Hmm. Yeah it's tricky cause Wicker is smack dab between Douglas Park and the Metro. Douglas Park is on the South side, Wicker is on the West side, and Metro is on the North side. Does your buddy have a car, or did you mean they'd just Uber to the fest to get you, then you'd take said Uber to the Metro?

No, we're driving from VA so we will have a car all weekend.

But if an uber would go by the fest and then keep going I guess it could work?

Okay so from the info I have it looks like you have 3 options:

    Uber
Pros: not the train, not worrying about parking.
Cons: $$$, and ya gotta remember there will be literally thousands of people looking for an Uber as soon as Misfits are done. Don't underestimate how much of a pain in the ass that can be, but if your buddy is already in it and can direct you to where ya need to go, that'll be a big help.

    Your buddy driving

Pros: Still not the train, might be less stressful trying to find him than finding and Uber.
Cons: The traffic mess that will be the Douglas Park area after the fest gets out, finding parking near the Metro.

    Train
Pros: No worries aabout traffic or parking.
Cons: Unfamiliarity. I totally get being worried about taking public transportation in a city you're unfamiliar with, but I do think this would be the least stressful approach. Yeah the train will be a bit crowded, but it'll be mostly riot fest people. You can think of it as a moving pit.

So i thought my buddy was getting me TDEP tix, I was packing all yesterday and driving all today and realized that maybe he misunderstood, did misunderstand as he had a meeting all morning, and I missed out on tix lol. Thank anyways or the offer @swboyd haha.

Anyways said buddy is going on Saturday so I think I'm just gonna get a single day ticket and just roll w/ it.
