I think some people on this site have had luck getting tickets from other people last minute for pretty cheap.
I'm kinda really having a hard time believing SYG only gets a half hour. Lesser bands have gotten 45/60.
Definitely a huge bummer about SYG but still holding out for an after show. 2 years ago I couldn't decide if I wanted to drop the $250 or whatever and the festival was a week away and someone on here sold me one for $100 haha easily changed my mind and bought megabus tickets that same day
Losing a stage will mean that lots more sets are shorter I'm sure. Kind of a bummer. I'm really excited for the aftershow prospects after seeing Denver's. I remember a fair amount of overlap last year that gives me hope. Thursday seems like a lock, and either MCS doing one early on or BN at any point would be perfect. I also really like that the aftershow for Thursday had a special presale for people who already have RF tickets. Seems like a no brainer that should happen for all of them.
I was planning on seeing them anyways but now I definitely will be! Dillinger Escape Plan announce forthcoming album will likely be their last - News - Alternative Press
I read this as The Dismemberment Plan and freaked out. This is less of an issue for me. But boy does RF have a lot of last tours!
I am pretty committed to dropping money at least for Friday with TDEP breaking up next year, but am gonna hold out just for a sec to see if I can score a discounted 3 day pass.
Same here. I want to go so bad, but between travel plans and general life expenses it's just a lot to drop at once. If not a discount, I'll probably just scour the web closer to the date for tix from someone on here/other boards
I'm getting really antsy waiting for the after show announcements but I feel like we have another week to go before anything gets revealed.
I'm constantly on the verge of vomiting waiting for the announcements. I need a MCS show and I NEED to get a ticket.
Couldn't have put it better myself. I think I'm willing to skip out on just about any band to see MCS do one last club show. I can imagine the energy in the room would be unreal.
I'm predicting the after shows announcement on Wednesday, 8/17 with tickets going on sale Friday, 8/19.
I just heard from someone that MCS is doing an aftershow on Saturday night, which is their final FINAL show. If that's true, I'd be livid, honestly.
The only aftershow I'm set on going to (if it happens) is Thursday, but I'd have a hard time missing the actual last MCS show.
I am hoping for after shows for the following bands... Set Your Goals, Motion City Soundtrack, Thursday, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Wonder Years (assuming their fall headliner won't be coming to Chicago).
Only reason I wouldn't do aftershows is because I'm going with my sister and she doesn't want to be out super late. Bummed too, I'd love to do MCS. Really hoping that TWY does one Friday, but it feels doubtful.
