Against Me!, The Aggrolites, Beach Slang and others in Chicago. The weekend after Riot Fest. Goose Island Beer Company
Stick to Your Guns, Stray From the Path, Expire, and Knocked Loose will be at Bottom Lounge on the 15th too.
Hey everyone, hoping someone can help me out with a quick question. I'll be heading over to Chicago for my first Riot Fest from Scotland and was wondering about the yet to be announced after show's. Is it possible to make it to the venues in time for these if you watch the headline act at the festival or do you really need to leave early? I'm planning on using public transport (probably the Metro) to get to and from Douglas Park, is this also the best way to get to the after show on time or is it likely to be carnage and would I be better off with a taxi?
I'm 100% going! My mom surprised me with the trip as a graduation present. My sister's flying down from Marquette, and the two of us are going Saturday while my mom goes sightseeing. I might be doing Friday too but I'm not sure yet.
Depends if you want to catch the openers at the after shows. Doors open for the after shows at 10 which is the same time the headliners end. I left early each night to catch the after shows and had no problem getting there on time.
Allison Weiss is playing the Beat Kitchen on Sept. 17, think she might be opening an after-party or just a coincidence?
I doubt it. Riot Fest doesn't usually do aftershows at Beat Kitchen. The venues to keep an eye on are Double Door, Cobra Lounge, Concord, and Bottom Lounge.
On the PTV/ND tour admat, there is no asterisk showing that I Prevail isn't playing Riot Fest. It could just be a mistake though. They aren't playing any of the other festivals on the tour.
Probably a coincidence. If it's a late show though I might hit that up if there's no cool aftershows that night.
Yep, they all share promotion with Riot Fest. Although I'd be weary of Double Door dates because they're being evicted.
I read up on the Double Door situation and the judge said that he would honor shows that have already been booked, so if Riot Fest booked shows there already they might be fine.
Also that jingle contest ends on the 25th...maybe we can expect schedules soon after seeing as how the winner will be the last announced band to play the fest?
