Yeah afi was the one I had hopes for. They have a bunch of anniversaries this year, they would have been perfect to play a full album.
Well, just because they say 'no' to someone mentioning a certain band doesn't mean a true confirmation that they won't be there. Not that I'd think any of those bands will be on that 2nd wave, just thinking it's not a for sure thing yet. Having said that, they never denied ATDI, and their cancellation was only for the North American portion of the tour (they still have Roskilde/Euro dates/etc. up on their website. Maybe they really will be the 3rd headliner. They also never denied Jawbreaker, so hopes and dreams are still mildly alive. Also Foo Fighters won't play but I bet there's a decent chance Dave at least comes out during Chevy Metal to play some covers
At the drive in is also rumored to be doing a Texas festival in the fall that is also announcing lineup on Tuesday, so it's possible we see a new set of ATDI dates on Tuesday that include both fests
The Flaming Lips, Sleater-Kinney, Julian Marley (performing Bob Marley & The Wailers’ Exodus), 2 Chainz, Gogol Bordello, DeVotchKa & more added to Riot Fest Chicago and Denver.
None of this interests me but there are still enough bands overall to justify spending $100 or whatever I did for an early bird 3 day pass.
Friday - Jimmy Eat World, Refused, Pierce the Veil, All Time Low, Set Your Goals, Neck Deep, The Dillinger Escape Plan Saturday - Brand New, Motion City Soundtrack, The Hold Steady, I The Mighty Sunday - The Misfits, Deftones, Underoath, Thursday, Chevy Metal, The Wonder Years, Billy Talent, Marina City
Agreed. The Flaming Lips might be cool to see, but none of these bands really blow my skirt up at all. Gogol Bordello is cool for Denver though. The line up on the whole is still strong enough that I can justify my 3 day ticket, though. Saturday is stacked and very top-heavy for me. Morrissey, Brand New, DCFC and the last MCS show. Something's gonna have to give there. I look forward to complaining about the set times in a few months.
I'm cool with Sleater-Kinney and look forward to seeing the Bronx again. I didn't really plan on getting blown away with this announcement so I'm good.
Friday - turnover, touché amore, set your goals, glassjaw, all time low, refused, Jimmy eat world, Ween Saturday - microwave, white lung, people under the stairs, balance and composure, fucked up, the hold steady, motion city soundtrack, descendants, brand new, death cab, morrissey Sunday - Can't Swim, Tancred, TWY, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, death grips, Thursday, underoath, misfits Lots of other bands I would watch as well. Sunday is the weakest day for me because after TWY I'm only a casual fan of the other bands billed higher.
Friday - Jimmy Eat World, Turnover, NOFX, GWAR, Refused. Saturday - Morrissey, Brand New, MCS, DCFC, Hold Steady Sunday - Thursday, Deftones, Underoath, Billy Talent, Wonder Years, the Falcon. Those are in some order. There are other bands I want to check out but those are the ones I'm actually excited about. I think I'm most excited for Sunday. That Thursday/Deftones/Underoath stretch is a murders row bands I've never seen or haven't seen in 10 years.
I apologize if this has been addressed before but does VIP have seating throughout the site? I have a bit of a bum foot so I might go VIP if it provides some comfy seating. Also, if anyone has done it, did the rest of the perks seem somewhat worth it or not so much? Please let me know, thank you!
