Otherwise this is probably the best Riot Fest lineup since I started going
I didn't even pay attention to Girls Against Boys being on the list! That's really cool too. My list is growing and they haven't even added any more bands.
Def not joking....and lucky them!! See its those kind of acts that I want more of at riotfest. Unique once in a lifetime stuff
Any reason the ??? couldn't be Fall Out Boy (FOB)? It's Chicago after all... I know they're playing KAABOO in SoCal that weekend, but they're not playing all 3 nights (or are they? they've listed all 3 as dates on their website).
I have no idea what day they would be playing of that fest, but the question marks don't mean three letter band and even if they did correspond to letters, they would not be listed as FOB on the admat.
Has anyone driven and parked for the fest before? This will be the first year where I might need to do that, but they are super not helpful with parking suggestions. All it says is don't or if you do, don't park on residential streets. Are there any other options?
I like literally like 5 min walking distance to Douglas park. There's quite a few streets around me that don't require specific parking permits. Also I noticed last year when walking home that the pink line towards the loop was slammed. So another option is parking near a pink line stop past California and take the train there. You'll deal with A LOT less congestion.
I mean, you can park on residential streets. I did it when it was at Humboldt Park. You just have to check the signage and make sure you don't need a permit. But I suppose they don't want hundreds of extra cars taking spots from the neighbors. You could also check SpotHero and see if there's anything nearby. It might cost you a few bucks, but at least you're guaranteed a spot.
Ok cool. The last two years I have gotten rides from the people I stay with, but I'll be driving instead of flying now and have another person coming for at least one day. We would really like to not deal with the hassle and price of uber leaving. I'm not messing with the CTA at all.
I had no problem parking at Douglas Park all three days last year. Found a spot nearby within minutes.
Yeah it was actually really easy. I right across the street for $10. It beat the heck out of trying to dip out early to catch an uber and pay double.
Came here to post the same. Most likely he'll be playing but his contract wasnt finalized yet and should've been one of those "???" names.
That is not his official website, which the article even states. I don't know what to think about it either though, as it seems way too early for anyone to be stirring the pot. His official facebook posted the lineup on the 18th and said it was true. I'm also positive that RF would check and double and triple-check that contracts were signed before announcing him (they would for anyone, but ESPECIALLY him). I'm already afraid of something happening where he has to cancel, but I do not think this is it. Bummed to see everyone in the thread giving up immediately too. :(
And that's not to say that the website doesn't have credibility, but it just seems odd that his FB would have posted that it was true. Lots of people will be in HUGE trouble if this wasn't finalized.
True to You is about as official as it gets with Morrissey. It will be interesting to see what Riot Fest has to say about this. He was the biggest draw to me for the festival this year but there are plenty of other bands I would love to see. Will be interesting to see who they tap to replace him as a headliner if this is all true.
