Wow, this was pretty easily the weakest season of the show imo but these last two episodes were incredible and up there with the very best. The portal hand bit was inspired and the finale was some legitimately great sci-fi
This was definitely overall the least good season, however, the first three episodes and the last four were all great. It was just 4-6 that were weaker. The last three episodes alone are among the show’s best ever I’d say, especially 8 and 10.
I personally don’t think the show has had a “bad” season yet. Just some have more great episodes than others. I think I liked 5 more than 4. The season finale is up there with the show’s very best
This is the first season to remotely disappoint me. I think it’s just showing it’s age / getting a little repetitive.
So someone remind me. The Beth, Jerry, and Summer that Rick and Morty have been running around with are not the versions whose house he crashed into in the flashbacks right? That version of the family still resides in Cronenberg universe?
Agree on this. I would throw seven in to the dislike bunch. Could've done a lot more with a Voltron episode than make it about summer and Rick. Had good gags but overall bleh. I haven't seen ten yet but I'm sure I'll like it. Eight and nine have both been stellar. To the point that it makes up for the turkey episode. Stupid turkey episode.
The finale was great and one of the better ones this season, the reveals were strong and it opens up a lot of opportunities for the future of the show that they'll probably eventually take.
just watched this season since I finally have Netflix again the last 3 episodes were phenomenal and truly great. the incest space baby episodes were appallingly bad beyond belief and I'd love if we never revisited that plot thread again everything else was... fine but pretty anodyne, with a couple of bright spots like the Jerry Hellraiser bit. definitely feel like this show is dragging its heels these days but it's still very watchable usually, and top-tier at it's best
Probably just me but I worry things are heading towards fizzling out with this show in classic Harmon fashion. Last season of community had just random characters and zany plotlines. I get little glimpses of that from some season five episodes.
Is this show not just all about random characters and zany plotlines? And bleak, depressive, soul-destroying cynicism.
