Cronenberg was the episode that really made me feel the show was special. It had so many elements working for it, and the ending was perfect. But the cable TV episode is my favorite from season 1.
I still think Scary Terry is my fav from season 1 (cable is fantastic though!) and either the Car Battery or Jerry Daycare/Gas Cloud is my fav from season 2....
The Cronenbergs, Cable, and Meeseeks are my faves from S1. Jerry daycare, Unity, Keep Summer safe, and Purge for S2
Forgot about Meeseeks! I'm a terrible person. THAT is my #1 for season 1 and I think Jerry Daycare is my fav for 2, even though carbattery is soooo great.
Jerry Daycare hits hard in the middle, when he goes out in the world and realizes what his ceiling was all along and decides to go back to the facility. That really stuck with me. I think it's the little bits of humanity is what I love about the show and how it never really lingers on that longer than necessary.
I love Jerry. His storylines never fail to produce laughs, and the Purge ep where it's found out he's been calling that Taddy Mason guy for friendship (and at one point before thinks its Taddy Mason calling him on Rick's spacephone ) is an underrated hilarious moment.
I laughed so hard at that joke and then felt a bit bad for Jerry. Had the same reaction in his Hungry for Apples plot.
That hungry for apples ep is a 10/10. "what's this? W-what could this possibly be? Because it looks like you're inside a simulation…inside a simulation. You're still on the ship. Game-day bucket go boom!"
Honestly this show is so well written and done, it's one of my favorites of all time which I normally wouldn't place a show with only 2 seasons under. It's just that good and rewatchable.
Recently rewatched all this, season 2 is more consistent but my top two are probably the first cable episode and council of ricks.
Watched the first two and didn't really like the pilot very much. Episode 2 was way, way better though.
the show continues to build upon itself, creating it's on world (worlds) and referenceing back, etc. It only gets better and better
The pilot is incredibly successful as a thesis statement for the series. The characters spring to life fully formed, the tone is set right away, and the jokes/humor sensibility need zero time to develop. It was and remains a superior example of how to introduce a series to an audience. Just because it's followed up by an episode that is in contention for the series' best doesn't diminish what the pilot accomplishes.
Was this put out before the show aired? I see the channel 101 logo at the bottom, that is the same channel that aired the Lonely Island's first show The Boo. It was so great, I'd like to see all the shows from that channel. The editing in this is incredible. I'd see this over Bad Boys 3, even though I'm looking forward to BB3.
