for some reason the line that sent me from this episode was Morty's "I used to be invisible but now I'm the opposite!"

that and the whole runner about him being pantsless was hysterical

 

The Bechdel Test joke made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes. Morty's still a 14-year-old boy, never forget lol

 

What still gets me every time is "every Rick has a vat!" lol

The Vat of Acid Episode was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program at the Emmys. Well deserved.

This feels like when a band says “we have 100 songs already written for our next album” but it still takes three years to come out

 

Jeeze, if they're already at S7, I think it's safe to assume the writing will be taking a dip when considering how long the others took lol

 

It sounds more like they're mapping out the season arcs in advance rather than them having several seasons worth of episodes written already

 

Is it also possible that they *do* write pretty quickly (especially during a pandemic when there’s not a ton else for them to do), but the animation side just naturally takes a very long time

 

Yeah I think in the past, Dan Harmon has personally admitted some of the delays were his bad, but remember him saying they're now more focused on it than ever and shouldn't expect delays that last as long as they have in the past. That's also a really good point about having a lot more time for it now in the pandemic.
