Sorry. Haha I blocked the guy and deleted my posts. Didn’t mean to ruin the fun of the Rick and Morty thread. Hahaha I’ve just never had anyone get passive aggressive like that when I’ve mentioned my past. I’m hoping the Holiday episode rumor is true and we get to see them then. If not, I imagine we’ll see them and evil Morty at least once next season. It seems there is no general consensus on the quality of this season, but I’m on the side that thought it was great and I’m excited for where the show goes moving forward from it.
Just finished the season. It was great but for some reason I didn't really enjoy it like I did the first two.
My local store said it had some on the website but on their door it said they didn't have any. I saw a bunch of people dressed as Rick waving at me from inside and decided to not go in lol
I would try it if I didn’t have to drive 4 hours to the nearest one to get it :( screw central California not being represented when both north and Southern California got some.
Being the naive person I am, I thought I could just mosey on down to McDonald’s and try it. So I drove down at like 1pm and the girl at the counter said people had been camped out in tents since 2am and it sold out in a matter of minutes. Crazy.
In episode 2F09, when Rick plays Morty's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is a magic xylophone, or something? Ha ha, boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
just watched the first three episodes of season 1. i can understand why the fanbase for this show is annoying as fuck (rick in the pilot talking about how school is for sheeple or whatever was a giant red flag) but can't understand where the "it's a show for smart people" thing comes from at all. just seems like an ordinary cartoon for 16 year olds
This show has definitely become the 'thing' to hate on atm. Certain aspects of the fanbase deserve ridicule for sure, but you get some terrible takes on twitter from idiots saying how it's "fake deep" and it idealises (wrong word maybe? Romanticises?) Rick's "nothing matters" Nihilistic schtick. It's like, what show are you watching?!
That is the problem all movies and television shows that feature anti-heroes. Rick is such a strong presence that people naturally gravitate toward him even though there is plenty of material to suggest that Beth or even Jerry are better people.
Yeah when the (deserved) hate for segments of the fan base starts to congeal into undeserved hate for the show, there's a problem. Whether or not one is on board for the show's sense of humor, Harmon's storytelling abilities and structural fundamentals are undeniably first-rate. Not to mention the outright amazing and wholly original animation.
There are many books written about Philosophy in The Simpsons. People took it very seriously. If the internet were around during the peak seasons, we'd be seeing the same thing
jesus christ this is so embarassing also just started a fight with my SO because apparently I'm wrong for saying that letting/encouraging children (8-10 yo) to watch this show is wrong. I'm sorry but it's not a children's show. totally age inappropriate.
for REAL. so much secondhand embarassment in that thread. But yeah that thread started it because people were like children are CRYING bc they missed it.
