Finally just caught up on last week's ep and while all the best lines have been quoted, has anything ever been this laugh a minute while so emotionally resonant? This season is firing on all fucking cylinders When Morty was going through the ride my girlfriend was like HE CARES ABOUT MORTY and in my head I'm just "oh, honey..."
Through that whole bit I was telling myself, no way this show actually shows Rick expressing that emotion so straightforwardly, but I STILL was caught off guard by the pay off to the joke. Def my biggest laugh of the ep.
"what does Ethan see in Patricia Lang is it her love of French cinema, her belief that a carbon tax is the only viable solution to carbon change or is it her massive stripper titties" I want cookies and a 90 minute version of Avatar my daughter's gonna be super hot her mom's gonna be Jessica momma cares about your titties it was a one time thought that everyone has it's really a contraction of some and more
Morty had most of the best lines in this episode but really enjoyed the whole thing The kid shooting his sister was dark as hell lol
I found this episode to be the least funny of the season, but one of the best for character development. That line about Jerry being a predator was so on point. Also, that kid killing his sister was incredible. Edit: By least funny, I mean when it comes to actually laughing out loud. It was very witty and consistently amusing.
The kid shooting his sister is easily one of the darkest thing in the entire series. Dead on about Jerry being who is though.
I am showing the episode to my students who still came to school despite the eclipse. Last year's students loved the show but this new group is completely uninterested.
I finally got around to starting this show and wound up watching the entire first season over the weekend. S2 will probably be knocked out in another day or two. One of the few shows that's actually lived up to the hype.
I feel like this season a lot of the humor is taking backseat to Harmon's obsession with cynicism. Its very welcome. I get less laughs, but the character development has been great.
I think this episode felt more like a classic Rick and Morty ep than the rest of the season. Really enjoyed it, I love episodes where they go to alien tourist spots like Blips and Chitz
I just noticed when Morty says "shut your goddamn mouth, Gene", it was bleeped out, but then after Summer went missing 15 secs later, he said "GOD DAMMIT" fully uncensored. Weird?
They most likely have a limit of how many "God damns" are allowed in an episode uncensored and felt the second one to be the more important one
Agreed. I thought adult swim used to have more freedom with that... Maybe just at like 3am or something? I feel like remember "fuck" being thrown around watching late as a kid.. maybe I'm just nuts hah
I'm not sure, I didn't have cable as a kid, but I remember when I was young, ABC would air Saving Private Ryan completely uncensored and I thought it was the most incredible thing in the world. They got away with it cause it's historical I guess?
