the "Sending explosion"/"receiving explosion" is one of the most clever gags I've ever seen across any medium. This episode fucking ROCKED. my one gripe is that Pickle Rick goes from having control of the one cockroach, barely, to having a full underground system of tools and gadgets ready to build him a rat/roach voltron thingy without any exposition. Granted, he is the smartest man in the multiverse, but still. Would've liked to hear them explain that a bit more, probably would've been hilarious.
I feel like that was the whole joke, like he just gets so advanced so quick, that whole contraption to assemble the rat suit was absurdly complicated
I'm not gonna lie, I just don't think Beth's character is likable enough to not be balanced out by Jerry. Obviously they had a toxic relationship, but that dynamic is kind of what made the two of them hilarious. She kind of made me angry in this one- she has that dickhead side from Rick, but without the humor or genius.
I sure hope so! There seem to be quite a few teasers showing that they're separate in at least a few eps, like Giant Summer
imagining something like Morty it's time you knew the truth your parents' divorce was all your fault oh jeez Rick erp you're such an insufferable little turd that your parents couldn't bare to be in the same room as you let alone together that can't be can it Summer yeah whatever Rick says
also (last post, sry), concierto definitely has the same voice as the screenplay guy from the Purge episode which is great
Couple of thoughts: Do you think Susan Sarandon just read that whole thing entirely off a piece of paper in one sitting/take? It felt almost like one damn breath, her monologue to Rick Rick and Beth in the front seats talking about getting drunk while Summer and Morty are in the back, desperately hoping/asking/hinting that they'll get to go to therapy again...I don't like the feelings that scene made me feel. At all. edit: also where the fuck is PhoenixPerson I mean really
I went back and re-watched last week's episode, and Rick calling Summer "Sum-Sum" is pretty hilarious in the moment.
I just rewatched Pickle Rick, and honestly I'm just so relieved at how these episodes have turned out after the struggle they had writing them. Not that I doubted Roiland and Harmon, I just thought that nobody could get through that kind of intense situation unscathed. But they're 3/3 so far. And they gave the world Pickle Rick, too. Just incredible.
