Mine still hasn’t arrived, ughhhhh. If anyone managed to get a vinyl rip of theirs, I will trade you loads of Richard/Margot rarities and demos for it...
So yeah, this is wonderful, of course. I do wish I hadn't heard basically 6 or 7 of these songs already, but it's great to have them all in one place and in high quality, and I'm excited to get to know these songs within the context of the whole record. Also, "Beekeeper" and "A Woman Who Can't Say No" are phenomenal.
Have you heard the Devil is a Dog cut of "Woman" yet? I would kill to have all of the recordings from that session.
People who joined his Patreon and preordered it from there had their preorders shipped early last week.
Finally got around to listening to this for the first time. I'd only listened to the acoustic version of Howlin' Heart and the Cotton Candy version of Pornographic Teens in the lead up so all of this was pretty fresh. The arrangements on this are gorgeous and it's hard not to feel like he's vocally on top of his game. It's already among my favourite records from this year. Such a beautiful album.
Yeah it’s definitely not as enthralling as LCCS was, but still a fun companion piece with some great tracks.
I really hope the name of the album is Two Sad Little Islands Drift Together, Two Lonely Little Monkeys Find a Tree.
