Got my Live at Luna Music vinyl today The blue is really gorgeous but I'm not gonna lie, I kinda want the pink version, too... but I can't afford to be that kind of collector right now haha

 

Does anyone have an HQ download of "Minefield" they'd be willing to PM me? I preordered Verdugo from Richard via Patreon but forgot to email him and ask for a download at the time, and my YouTube rip just isn't cutting it anymore...

I absolutely love the production on these songs and LCCS. So lush. Richard & Rob Schnapf are a great team.

 

Agreed, just washes over you. Sometimes I wish some of the vocals were up like 1 dB, just a niggle though. This guy has been on a songwriting tear for the last couple of years ... even the unrecorded Pink Lightning from the live version knocks me out. Keep going Richard!

I only got to spin it a few times last night so it's not fresh on my mind. The songs are lush. Lyrically a lot of it seems to still be navigating his divorce. The new version of "Pornographic Teens" has got a very eerie vibe to it, and I like it, but I kinda wish we would have got another new song in its place. It being back could be a thematic thing that I haven't caught yet though so idk.

I thought about that quite a bit while I was listening last night. I can't unhear the Merle influence on "A Woman Who Can't Say No"- it's one of my favorite tracks on the album. His daughter has a speaking part on Tornado Dreams which I thought was pretty neat but otherwise it's just a quick interlude. I'm kinda just rambling now haha. I love it but I need to spend some more time with it. Favorites right now are A Woman..., Howlin' Heart, and Strange

 

Yeah I read that, it was a great read, really insightful stuff. Totally agree with you on that bit about Pornographic Teens, not that I necessarily mind that he reworked it in a cool way, but admittedly it would have been cooler to get another new song in its place, haha. Thanks for the info, man. Can't wait to listen to this record fully.

 

Been listening to LCCS and PP a lot lately. Does anyone else want a cover of “One Headlight” from him? Haha
