Got the emails about this and think I’ll have to pick it up. Glad it comes with a digital download because it’s hard to listen to vinyl too often with two toddlers.

 

Did anyone preorder through Joyful Noise and get the digital single? I ordered directly through Richard so I haven't been able to hear it yet.

Also, I'm pretty sure these are the same recordings that have been on the lathe cuts that he has been selling over the past few months. Which I'm totally fine with, since those didn't come with digital versions and were not very great-sounding on that format. Very excited to hear all of the ones that weren't on the lathes, too.

 

My roommate got that 7" of Gene by itself and holy shit it's amazing. Really looking forward to this release

 

Did you get your hands on this yet? I finally ordered today through Joyful Noise and got digital downloads of "Pornographic Teens" and "In Some Dreams".

 

Not yet. Release is a week from tomorrow but Richard made it seem like we might hear it early, so hopefully we will be able to listen to the entire thing soon.

Kinda getting the feeling that digital downloads for Joyful Noise orders might go out before those of us who preordered the vinyl straight from Richard receive our records in the mail... so, you know, if anyone wants to share when the time comes :)

Wonder if this will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. My impression was that there wouldn't be a digital release to buy, at least not right away.

I don't think it will be on Spotify or Apple Music at all, or at least not any time soon.

 

that sucks. trying to not spend so much money with holidays fast approaching. I'll pick it up eventually.

 

Maybe/hopefully Joyful Noise will stream it on their SoundCloud at some point. That seems like it would be a good middle ground between this being vinyl-only versus putting it up on Spotify and everywhere else.

 

I’m just glad they are including download card with the vinyl.

Got my vinyl copy in the mail today, it looks lovely. I'm really excited to hear the full/original versions of Howlin' Heart and Gene whenever Verdugo comes out (March, I think?).

 

Anybody know what Richard has been up to on his Instagram story? There have been lots of clips of renovating a house... curious if he's gearing up to sell a house or fixing up a new one or maybe preparing a home studio? I saw a keyboard in one of the video clips but mostly it's just been a lot of wood flooring!

He has posted about a new album and from what he has said it will be out this year, but like everything else waiting out the virus. I believe it is recorded but he he is still adding to it. He has played a couple new songs.
