He's threatening on Twitter to scrap the Verdugo LP. We can't let this happen! It's so close! Sigh.

 

I saw that! The only reason he gave was that it was time for something new right? Also, haven't he shared images of it being mastered and what not? We better at least get Pity Party then haha.

"Pity Party! is a live to 2" tape acoustic album from Richard Edwards, consisting of performances of songs from Lemon Cotton Candy Sunset, Sling Shot To Heaven (Margot & the Nuclear So and So's), the next solo album (????), as well as an unreleased track "In Some Dreams". No overdubs, no comping, just some of Richard's best songs in their most intimate form."

 

Revisiting Slingshot after a while. It's a masterpiece and makes so much sense as a predecessor to this one.

Just noticed the lyrical connections between Bleary Eyed and Moonwrapped with the sewing imagery.

Plenty of competition here if i really did some thinking on it but Flying Saucer Blues has to be up there for me as far as favorite Richard tunes.

 

Pity Party is lovely

 

The first Margot show since 2014 (I think?) is going to be in Fountain Square (Indianapolis) on New Year's Eve. Details and tickets on Monday. I've already booked my AirBNB!

It was a great show. My favorite moments were Quiet as a Mouse and Long Legged Blonde Memphis. So awesome to see Richard rocking out after a year full of quiet solo-ish shows.

 

He just never stops

 

Cannot wait for Verdugo. Also eagerly anticipating that Animal/Not Animal repress. Sold my copy of Not Animal a while back and never owned Animal.

 

So excited for both. Are we anticipating both Animal and Not Animal to be repressed?

 

Yeah I think he said they wikis be released as an anniversary set or something.

 

lccs really snuck up on me. when i first heard it i was like "this is solid". but i kept getting sucked back into its gravity and it's now one of my favorites of last year.

it really does seem like suffering is the process by which we shed our egoic impurities and enter a higher state of celestial oneness. pretty common pattern i see in artists and in my own journey, and richard's no exception. all that pain seems to have catapulted him into a deeper dimension of love and creativity, and i think he's just getting started. so inspiring to see.
