Saw a trailer for this last night at a Godzilla screening and I was instantly hooked. Something about it looked so timeless.
I watched around 40 min of a Long Days Journey Into Night but never got back to it…however I was reading that it transitions into 3D?!?. Is that true? lol or is it unnecessary
Right, but I was watching at home and didn’t have any available lol - need to find some before I watch again
i should clarify, it's not stereoscopic. only way to watch it in 3D is to have seen it in theaters or to buy the 3D Blu-ray and have a 3D TV/Blu-ray player. otherwise it's always gonna be in 2D for everyone else
I will be delaying my annual lists because this is actually coming out somewhat near here on the 2nd.
My wife asked me my favorite of the year tonight and I had to give this as my answer. Seeing it in theaters was such a singular experience
Saw it this morning. First Bi Gan film I've seen. Immediately got tickets after to see Long Journey on the big screen Wednesday.
I really loved the first and final three segments, not sure how I feel about the others. I also had to sit in the front row so it took some time to get comfortable and lock in. I may try to catch it again before it leaves. also, he’s 35?!
Right??? Feels like a movie one would make at the end of their career—or at the end of their life. There’s a wisdom on display here that’s just remarkable. I like how each of the worlds/sequences feel like they’ve reached this spiritual/cinematic zenith and verging on total disintegration. I can’t explain why but that “too much-ness” is a direction I’d expect from an older filmmaker.
