Ok, I won’t say this was a good movie. But I had a GREAT time. Would recommend to any fan of the games, so many fun references.

This fucking ruled, so much Carpenter influence on this movie! Them making Leon so so stupid is my only real complaint, had such a good time with this!

Hell yeah lol. You love to see it!

Truly if this was edited down to 90 min and had a different ending? Game over for me. Instant favorite.

It was super fun. There really was quite a bit of Carpenter influence in this, as someone pointed out. Especially early on in the film. Really loved that. Unfortunately no one really felt like the characters they were portraying which was a bit of a bummer. But yeah, I pretty much knew what I was getting into from the start so it was a good time

Echoing what y’all are saying, I’m not sure what someone who’s not a huge fan of the games would think, but I loved it. Also felt the carpenter vibes. It was shot much better than I expected from the trailer, the score had some cool moments too.

I coulda shit myself at code Veronica reference !!!
I wish Jill was more Jill-like (no, not the casting, but her attitude) and was more of a character.

I get what you mean about Jill. Felt like her only purpose in this film was just to move Wesker's plot along.

    Loved that reference as well!

Welp, I loved this. The Carpenter vibes, the dedication to pulling so much from the first two games (with the easter eggs from other games in the series!), the grainy effects in some shots, the Birkin sequences, etc. My only gripe is (like mentioned above) Leon's character being written the way he was. Such an odd choice.

  14. Totally forgot this came out last week, glad to hear it's at least enjoyable. Still skeptical that it's 1+2 and not 2+3, but we'll see.

This was pretty boring with bland characters. Loud noises are scary!

Enjoyable once it got going, but the first act was such a slog. The movie found some pretty convenient ways to combine the two games, although I'm still convinced 2+3 would've been better. I expected that a lot would get cut, and I get that it would be impractical to build every setting in the games, but at the very least I would've liked if they'd written Sherry and her mother a bit more accurately. and Ada deserves so much more than to be a post-credits scene But hey, props for casting poc for Leon and Jill.

Making Chris and Leon be dumb himbos is a choice I rather enjoyed. Movie was bad though, in a so bad it’s good kinda way.

  19. Eh action and atmosphere were all right

The action was boring. I guess I’ll give you the atmosphere though. But that’s not much.

  21. I didn't even like this movie that much, but I think the action is fine. Maybe a bit boring, sure, but none of these characters are at their prime. This is their first time against zombies so they weren't prepared. Besides, can't be too game-accurate, giving them grenade launchers that shoot acid would've been a bit much haha

I’ve never played the games. You don’t need to go extreme for the action to not be boring.

The lights out zombie scene in the mansion was probably the only time I felt they captured the spirit of the games.

I would argue that the Birkin encounter did a good job of showcasing the game energy from both the original 2 and updated version. Also looking at the truck driver/wreck and Bravo team finding Alpha team’s crash site.
