anyone else think it's curious that Bear had no reaction to seeing Mabel and Brownie on the video? he even asked where they were like he didn't know the answer, I feel like that was important
Regularly scheduled this is the best show on tv post. Goddamn the voice they gave the nuns to I assume simulate the kids not understanding English was unsettling.
Even more bummed that this is the last season because we need more shows like this to tell stories that never or hardly ever get told. I'm very lucky my tribe and relatives didn't have to deal with children being abducted and sent to Indian schools (to the best of my knowledge) but the stories I've read and heard are absolutely heartbreaking, just like this episode was.
Damn, this show. Kaniehtiio Horn was great as the deer lady. That final flashback scene is a gut punch.
that was the most crushing episode of TV I've seen in a hot minute. definitely needing some Willie Jack and Cheese next week after that
man so much stuff I'll be thinking about for months probably. but that shot of Koda being dragged away where it gets inverted and you see the upside down cross. absolutely bone-chilling stuff
wasn't expecting a sequel to s1e2 after two bold episodes. still really enjoyed it but definitely felt a bit standard I love Cheese so much though, that "oh wow you're beautiful" was so genuine
Loved last week’s episode. Next episode looks like a Cookie flashback episode, so I’m happy we got a perfectly pleasant and funny half hour before I’m ruined in a couple days
casting for young Brownie + Bucky was absolutely A+ this episode, so good. not my favourite episode though, went over my head a little bit I think?
reading up on it to try to understand more and it's having the opposite effect lmao. I guess the alien was played by the same actor who played Daniel? feel like there's significance there but I don't know what it is
I feel like overall, it’s just trying to show how they’re all making the mistake of looking for something different and trying to go their separate ways but their actual “family” is each other. Not sure precisely what it was getting at with the alien, but I feel like it was trying to show how Max spent his life looking for these “relatives” but just ended up neglecting his actual “family” the whole time.
The camping episode is a lot of fun and hits a real sweet spot towards the end. Def pays off the last episode too
