Henry Zaga is also playing Sunspot, a black character, in The New Mutants. He must be of that Scarlett Johansson school of actors being allowed to do whatever the heck they want.
When even the Jay and Silent Bob reboot has better representation, it’s probably time to take a step back and reevaluate what you’ve done.
Awkwafina To Star In ‘The Last Adventure of Constance Verity’ Movie At Legendary – Deadline get all the roles! (outdated meme reference?)
Have we talked about how Chloe Bennet is in Abominable? Because Chloe Bennet is in Abominable. And Abominable looks adorable. (Honestly for a second there I was watching the trailer wondering why the voice sounded so familiar and I panicked thinking ScarJo stole another one of our roles hahaha)
...So I guess we're not getting Carol+Valkyrie? Cowards. Wait, is no one currently on the Marvel roster LGBT? List is huge.
Tessa is bi and is that it holy shit that's sad, I don't think it was Marvel that told her that but someone else in Hollywood , however Disney/Marvel is definitely like look a guy in Avengers mentioned his husband that's enough
No, there is. Tessa Thompson has said publicly that she is attracted to both men and women. She also made it sound like Valkyrie will have a female love interest in the next Thor.
Oh yeah, duh, I knew that. She and Janelle Monae were a thing at some point, right? I don't think Marvel/Disney straight up told KStew that, either, but I agree, we shouldn't applaud them for doing the bare minimum. Their track record with representation (especially when it comes to casting what should be Asian roles) isn't exactly perfect. You'd think a corporation as supposedly progressive as Disney would have a higher ratio of LGBT people in their movies.
As someone pointed out in the comment section relating the Kristin Stewart thing, Angelina Jolie is appearing in The Eternals and in the past has identified as bi
headlines and tweets keep leaving out the important aspect that she is a white British citizen who was orphaned in Africa and raised Muslim. But that’s not gona get the clicks Not saying it’s going to be a good movie, but it’s not AS absurd as it sounds?
This isn't about clicks. It's about an African story conveniently finding a way to center around a white character. Having a vaguely plausible explanation doesn't make it any less poorly conceived.
I mean, Elle was already my favorite Fanning sister, but liek (I was gonna say, Dakota Johnson is my favorite Dakota and I haven't seen her in anything, but that's too mean.)
