So fucking sad - cannot believe this. What a tragic loss. I hope he's at peace. One of the best live bands I've seen.
Haven't been a fan of Linkin Park for years but their first 4 albums - and their live show - were incredible. Such an enormous loss. I first saw them on Family Values Tour in 2001 before they 'blew up.' Opened for Staind and Stone Temple Pilots. Blew everyone away. What's really eerie is that my 12,000+ song iPod is always on shuffle and I drove into work today listening to Lying From You. Real random, because I don't listen to LP too much anymore at all. But I kept it on this morning. Can't believe this.
Basically this. Fans were REALLY shitty about it. There were some reports I read where he lashed out at them on stage, etc.
thats awful. going to echo that LP and specifically Hybrid Theory was one of the first moments in my early music listening stages when I realized that theres SO MUCH more out there. First time I heard screams, first time I'd bought something off iTunes, god damn. this one hurts. the band and his family are in my thoughts
I mean people would pay to go to LP's show. A show designed to promote their new music. and then boo the fuck out of them when they played new songs. that is shitty as fuck.
Terribly sad on all fronts. Six kids, the Cornell connection, all of it is so awful to read. Rest in peace.
Gonna also repeat what many have said already: LP was one of the first bands that exposed me to newer, heavier music when I was younger, particularly Meteora. Breaking the Habit was the first music video I ever saw. RIP.
Damn I just looked up the reviews. Didn't know the reception was that bad. Never gave the album a shot since I haven't really listened to them in a long time but I'll give it a listen tonight.
