Why the fuck would Yahoo post that when it's CLEARLY not her tweeting it? Gotta get those website clicks. Fucking assholes.
Apparently there are rumors GWAR is getting kicked warped for a comment made yesterday regarding this. "Suicide is not a joke, but Linkin Park sure is" was what was said.
I'm eagerly anticipating a statement from the band regarding the tour. Tickets aren't available anymore.
Can't say I'm surprised at that. Their entire gimmick is to be "shocking". I'm shocked no videos were released yet.
I'm still seeing tickets for sale for Chicago. I have tickets to the show, too, and I'm expecting a cancellation. Anything else seems inappropriate.
Tickets are still on-sale for the Blinkin Park show in NY. I'm guessing Blink can just headline that by themselves?
I've got tickets to the Hershey show next Sunday, I'm trying to find out what's going on too. Personally I think it's gonna be called off altogether, I can't see MGK & Wu-Tang still making it out to their shows if LP isn't going to continue.
If that is the case it would be cool if they did something to Chester's memory, like cover Numb or Shadow Of The Day or something
I'm sure there's going to be some sort of tribute at the show. I don't see LP performing with a guest singer or Chester's vocals played in the background. That'd be a little too odd to do 8 days after his passing.
Sorry to turn this thread negative for a minute, but I have to draw attention to this. Brian Storm of Rock Feed spent MONTHS bashing Chester Bennington's artistic integrity and writing garbage clickbait articles that took Chester's words way out of context to paint him as some sort of asshole. Now he's trying to suddenly act sorry since Chester died, and deleted all his negative articles... and everyone's eating it up. Here's his new article: Lets Be Honest About Chester Bennington - Rock Feed And here's just a couple of the garbage articles from only a couple months back that he suddenly wants to pretend never existed: LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington: "Stab Yourself In The Face" If You Think We Sold Out - Rock Feed LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington Calls Haters "Pussies", Will Punch Them In Their "F--king Mouth" Sorry to make a big deal out of this, but I have zero respect for people like this "journalist", and hope he gets deserved backlash.
the thing that gets me, as a fan of LP since before Hybrid Theory turned them into A THING, is this. All the lyrics, the angsty phrases and all (not to mention that meme of the kid crying with I'M GONNA GO LISTEN TO LINKIN PARK' or whatever it) were always dismissed, as was the band itself, as fake/label created/trash rock or whatever. But now, every single song, every single instance of Chester expressing something about inner demons and such, just seems so awfully sad. Listened to a bunch yesterday and it hit me that no, this was all authentic and was his way of channeling his turmoil - which he succumbed to anyway because depression is a horrible thing. But just - all the jabs, all the writing-off from everybody fro being so 'fake' - it seems now that he was really anything but in his music. And it's heartbreaking.
Beautiful post. Couldnt agree more, I've never been afraid to admit I loved the band, but I heard plenty of what you talk about. Also side note, I want to spin them like everyone else is in their honor, I tried; but I felt this feeling in the pit of my stomach that just made it hard for me to listen to the music and not get bummed.
yeah. It does. It was hard listening, especially to songs like Easier to Run and Somewhere I Belong, not to mention The Messenger and One More Light. Sigh.
