After spending the last 15 years filling out back catalogs, I now only purchase vinyl in three scenarios: if I adore the album, want to support the artist, or am trying to avoid a glaring hole in my collection (like a mid record from a someone I otherwise have the full discography for). Not having the attention span in my adult life to check out much new music helps too. Regardless, I think we’re due for a market correction. Once pressing plants aren’t running at full capacity, I imagine there will be some price recalibrations across the supply chain.
